Special Counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly looking into whether former national security adviser Michael Flynn was involved in a kickback scheme with a Turkish lobbying client.

Of interest to Mueller, according to The New York Times, are two payments totaling $80,000 that Flynn made last year to his Turkish client, Ekim Alptekin.

The payments have raised suspicion because they were made in between larger financial transfers from Alptekin to Flynn, who signed a $600,000 lobbying contract on Aug. 9, 2016. Mueller, a former FBI director, is also looking into whether the Turkish government was behind the payments to Flynn, the former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Poor Trumpy. No one should be forced to work in an office or live in a house while it's under renovation. The thousands of Americans who do that daily are just weak, clearly.

I know you're joking but actually on the battlefield the most powerful weapon isn't a gun at all, it's a radio. But I'm sure while lots of the Trumpets in NRA land probably have thought about some of the firepower disadvantages they'd be at if they ever did have their glorious 2nd Amendment uprising and take on the feds (no doubt during the Obama years), almost none of them have thought about how they'd communicate with their buddies in the other foxholes when they do that. Because the last time I checked the NSA still worked for the government and anything that goes over the airwaves or cell towers is 100% being scooped up by their computers and sent to the Predator drones within minutes.

The whole citizens vs the military thing always kind of reminds me of this movie clip.

Do you think if the President said I'm going to stay in the White House and work while it's under renovation, that anyone would say no to him?

I probably would vote to retire the word "triggered" from the political lexicon. It's little more than an ad hominem argument and never advances the discussion much.

You'd think he was talking about the Republican Party.

This drives me nuts, and I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but:

A) The number was seven of 15 who had donated to Clinton. Hence, a little more than half did NOT. At least one of the seven had also donated to some Republicans, including Jason Chaffetz.

B) They're basically saying the team should be compromised almost entirely of Republicans. Someone should not be investigated by their own supporters. Imagine how these folks would flip out if Clinton won and was being investigated by a bunch of people who had donated to Democrats. The lawyers would ideally be balanced, maybe leaning toward the opposition party.

C) Mueller is a registered Republican who was appointed by George W. Bush.

Obviously, the belief of the right is that only Republicans can be trusted to do anything important and all investigations of everyone should be done 100% by Republicans, which basically ties into the fascism that they crave.

Yes, it's going to be a great recess. Major LEGISLATION so far:

Repeal & Replace Obamacare
Repeal Obamacare
Let Obamacare Die - I'm not eating this!
Congress Blocks POTUS from removing Russian sanctions
Congress Blocks POTUS from making recess appointments
Congress Blocks POTUS from firing Mueller

Prior to attending the rally Thursday, Paulus was indicted on 11 counts of fraud in September 2015, with federal prosecutors stating he performed medically unnecessary heart procedures, including catheterization and inserting stents, on patients at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky, between 2008 and 2013, according to the indictment filed in U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Kentucky. U.S. Attorney Kerry Harvey said Paulus would then bill Medicaid, Medicare and patients’ private insurers for the needless procedures.

In the indictment, Harvey said Paulus performed more cardiac stent placements for Medicare patients than were performed by all of the cardiologists at either the University of Kentucky or University of Louisville health care systems, making roughly $2.5 and $2.6 million annually in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2012, Paulus made $1.7 million, and he made $692,197 in 2013.
