Mueller has 16! of the best lawyers in the country sacrificing 7 figure incomes to nail this mother****er. He's going down.

I think its unlikely that Pence will face any serious primary challengers. Maybe like a Ron Paul style candidate who draws like 10-15 percent of the vote but I'd doubt more than that.

Sweet #16 is gonna be the one that hammers the nail home.

Greg Andres started on Tuesday, becoming the 16th lawyer on the team, said Josh Stueve, a spokesman for the special counsel.

Most recently a white-collar criminal defense lawyer with New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, Andres, 50, served at the Justice Department from 2010 to 2012. He was deputy assistant attorney general in the criminal division, where he oversaw the fraud unit and managed the program that targeted illegal foreign bribery.

Could just be me being cynical, but I'm really struggling to see the mechanics of "he's going down".

If everyone around him starts getting indicted it's hard to believe none will have useful information to trade for leniency.
08-02-2017 , 10:50 PM
What "useful information" could bring him down? What could make the GOP congress turn on him? That's pretty much required for any "bring him down" scenario, right?

I think we're looking at either massive scandal and likely constitutional crisis far beyond any historic precedent, or a great big nothing. I don't see how anything between those extremes is possible.

The Marines first female fighter pilot to land on a carrier during combat is running to take KY-(6) from the R column. She slams turtle twice in her campaign announcement ad.

I don't necessarily think congress must turn on him. The man is already historically unpopular and there has not been a single legitimate crisis yet. There is a real chance he's primaried or loses the general in 2020, and if a Dem get the White House there may not be any pardons.

As far as what useful information might entail: evidence he and his campaign had advance knowledge of the DNC hack, evidence of money laundering or other financial crimes, basically all the things we speculate about.
08-02-2017 , 11:12 PM
lol primary. you mean they'll run a republican candidate against him in the general, because trump is running.

You know what I'm gonna say, right? The hearing took place on Thursday, and it was really damning for the GOP in addition to Team Trump.

I know I'm a crazy man saying Browder Browder Browder all the time, but there's been a noticeable change since before the weekend. It was actually started a few days before Browder, when Trump made that "non-political" speech for the Boy Scouts and dictated the transgender military ban.

But there's definitely been a new movement of pushing back and calling Trump out like never before. Several GOP have spoken in a way that exposed Trump's flaws rather than just being deeply concerned, the Scouts sent a message out to criticize the political speech, the military stated that they were ignoring the transgender orders, police across the country condemned him for advocating brutality, the Scouts again called him out along with the President of Mexico for lying about their congratulatory phone calls, Congress has been chattering about applying new restrictions on Trump besides the sanctions, McConnell pushed back when he was ordered to continue with Trumpcare, and there were several more examples from today.

People are starting to learn how much of a lying weak criminal Trump really is. They aren't as scared of him, they realize he must be investigated for crimes, and they're sick of not getting the truth!

As for the GOP, keep a close eye on who parts with Trump, how soon, and for what reason. We may be able to get a good indication of who's compromised (aside from Nunes, Grassley, Cornyn, Roherbacher or however you say/spell it, to name a few probables), who's clean, and maybe even what they know that could warrant using their position to obstruct justice.

Unless Trump pulls some incredible moves, it's only going to get better from here. Which also means we should be afraid, because Trump won't be taken down without a fierce fight, and we're on the verge of more than just 1 or 2 wars.

EDIT: I realized that I mixed two issues together in this post, Browder's hearing affecting GOP and Trump's actions affecting organizations. The point I am trying to make (and maybe failed at before) is that the movement had accelerated a day after the hearing. GOP criticizing on the weekend shows, Flake's written attack, Congressional actions listed above, etc. It's the first time we're seeing more than just one Graham or McCain at a time come out against the crook.

Agree with you that we're heading for some crazy ****, except not the great big nothing part. I don't think that's possible from this point. Somethingburgers galore.

Focus on the corruption dammit. If nothing else, we need precedent and political will to establish much better boundaries between money and government power.
This is fun though.

The way things are going, and especially if Trump picks fights with Republicans - maybe he could get primaried? If it could happen to anyone ever, Trump is a candidate. Of course he'll get us into a war first. Can't change horses in mid-stream.

It's like the entire Republican Party manifested itself as a single human being.

Evidence enough to convince the deplorables they are afraid of. Pee tape with fourteen year olds well burning an American flag?

Jeffrey Lord trying to defend Trump's Boy Scouts and Mexico lies is just silly.

FWIW, that's Sam Clovis, person #4 that was implicated for Russian collusion by that WSJ report on Patrick Smith, the 81yr old weird suicide note guy. Smith was the GOP operative who claimed he was commissioned to get Hillary's emails from Russia. A member of his team fingered Kellyanne Conway (don't say it), Bannon and Flynn, in addition to Clovis.
