Only a couple 4Lers seem to be Trumpers.

I'm sure if Microsoft had invented the internet instead of the govt as a neutral platform - MicrosoftPay would have been just as useful as PayPal - and not bloated with tons of stupid crap.

On side we have this crazy theory that no can even articulate. On the other side you have
Trump + Manafort + Flynn + no one can remember ever having a conversation with anyone that can speak Russian. Plus 10 dozen other incriminating pieces of evidence.
Now put it through a Fox News filter and process it with the brain of a Trumpkin and you get: LOCK HER UP!

Literally anything they try will work on the target audience... But hopefully that won't be enough in '18.

They did already. Why else would DS keep popping in to spew Breitbart links and state propaganda?

Grassely and his ilk are trying to make it look like Fusion GPS was playing both sides by tying the Russian lawyer to Fusion GPS. The theory has a lot of moving parts and is very complicated and that is likely by design. I think what they are trying to do is draw some kind of lose connection to the democrats with the Russian lawyer via fusion GPS and then try to discredit any investigation into Trump saying that Hillary and the DNC are behind the whole thing.

It wont work because Fusion GPS was originally hired by Republican never Trumpers and the whole thing is just to ****ing confusing.

If this whole thing gets left up to the voters in 2018 my money is the dems win the house by a landslide, especially if Trump manages to get rid of Mueller. The story is not going way and campaign season for the midterms is just around the corner.
I don't understand why you're up-playing the GOP smoke screen and downplaying the incredible revelations from this hearing, and how the Dems know so much more about following the money and the GOP legislation sides of this Trump crime ring.

None of your 3rd paragraph happened in the video, it's just generic public info.

What gives?

BBV4L hasn't lived up to its reputation in a very, very long time. It is a a low traffic forum of a couple dozen reg's making dumb jokes in intentionally pointless threads. It is also one of the friendliest forums on 2+2, if you can tolerate the inanity.

As opposed to starving with a functioning regime or people attempting to escape NK now? I suppose the latter would be worse but the vast majority of NK is already starving.

Why doesn't China cut off trade with North Korea unless NK terminates their nuclear weapons program? China is responsible for over 80 percent of their international trade and is basically the one country that provides them with the necessary resources to survive. The only problem is that those resources have been shown to aid their nuclear program.

So China is indirectly helping them build their program and refuses to completely cut off that lifeline in order to build leverage in possible negotiations. Sure, China has cut off most of the coal but trade has still increased overall by 10%.

That said, whining on Twitter is still a pretty pathetic way to get anything done. He acts more like an angsty teenager than a politician. If he was competent in any way, maybe China would be forced into action but he doesn't seem to know how to do anything.

Was there ever a President as inactive as Trump?

****, William Henry Harrison probably moved around more during his term than Trump.

. True, they are already starving, but as you say, it would be worse.

Because Crazy-Un won't necessarily do that because he sees failure to pursue the nuclear weapons program as an existential threat to himself, as he sees it as the only thing that is preventing the West from attacking him. If China were to cut off all trade, the regime would start to collapse. If that happened, who knows what Kim Jong would do, he's ****ing crazy and has nuclear weapons, and he's right on China's border.

. This is certainly true. As I said, there are no good options or solutions to this problem. China cutting off trade to NK *might* be the least bad option, but it could still be terrible, causing a giant humanitarian crisis, and could potentially lead to a limited nuclear war, or even just a conventional one where hundreds of thousands die. (North Korea doesn't need to nuke South Korea to kill scores, even a conventional shelling of Seoul could accomplish that).

Yes. As I said, no good options. None. This is why no president nor any political party has been able to solve this.

What a weird statement by Mulvaney. It does bolster the theory I presented several times in the Ocare thread over the last month about how it really doesn't feel like incompetence is stopping Trumpcare from passing.

This feels like the stall-job of all stall-jobs. No hearings, no meetings, no content. Just a handful of like 4 or 5 people (not even the full 13 GOP committee) in a closed room, and the best they can come up with is 8 pages of a bill they're voting for and hoping doesn't pass?? And the votes are 50-50 with a tie breaker or 51-49. How many times are we going to get the whole resistance riled up to the point of devastation, only to (oh darn it!) just miss passing by 1 vote, then declaring healthcare completely dead only to have Trump revive it a day later? Then Trump flips between Repeal & Replace, Repeal only, and let it die 3x a week for a month or two before rince/repeat.

Is this really McConnell's incompetence? It's gonna take a lot more convincing to get me to go along.

It would be a tremendous show of good faith if the US would stop all the saber rattling. Hollywood made a movie joking about the man's assassination, FFS. I'd say he's correct to be paranoid in regard to the US.

Shunning NK has not accomplished anything to aid its people or their government's pursuit of nuclear weapons. Sometimes I wonder if the best move wouldn't be to just invite them into the international community anyway. Gives them a lot more to lose if they ever used them.

You talking about CIA Director Mike Pompeo's comment on separating KJU from his nukes as part of the post too? Apparently NK was really steaming over that decapitation threat and it's causing them to lash out extra with comments and tests recently.

I think this is more right than wrong and Kim Jong-Un being crazy is overplayed. He wants power, adoration, and wealth. The tricky part is that he depends so much on NK being closed off from the rest of the world. Fully opening up their society would be a bigger threat to him than our sabre rattling.

For all we know this is what is actually happening, but an arrangement to pretend to be on the brink of war might be what prevents it.

You all do realize that Obamacare is essentially the equivalent of going into a store and seeing they now only stock a hard plastic toothbrush with ultra-tough bristles. I can't get the Japanese charcoal toothbrushes that I like now. I can only get a grey, hard, enamel-stripping toothbrush because—hey—that's now all I can legally buy! There aren't 30 different options to choose from. There's one.

What a stupid system! Clearly cobbled together in the dead of night, gents. Great policy, Obama!

AM Joy is doing a story on Ezra Cohen-Watnik right now, and it's fascinating. If any of you remember, this is the Mike Flynn protégé who helped Nunes run that whole interference unmasking thing to delay the Sally Yates testimony. It looks like there's much more to it.

When McMaster tried to fire Ezra, Trump himself stepped in to block it. Ezra's position is liason between the WH and the IC. He and Mike Flynn are friends who started working in the WH at the same time.

And if all the above isn't weird enough, the reporter who broke the story was on with Joy talking about their experiences asking around the WH about this guy. The staff responses were either how they don't know him, or pretend not to know him, or don't want to talk about him. The reporter also said that just like Trump is with Flynn, the WH staff is very protective of Ezra.

Wondering if he and Flynn still speak regularly?

I'm a bit uninformed on wikileaks and their potential motivations. Obviously they published the Clinton stuff before the election, now this. I'm in favor of truth, but pretty suspicious since they seem partisan now. Thoughts?

Wikileaks is a propaganda operation for Vladimir Putin at this point, nothing more.
