It's official, all the people in the teevees are giving McCain the lifetime mavericky maverick award cuz he did one thing.

This can't end well - probably bombing the **** out of N. Korea. They're already planting the seeds. Judith Miller will be called upon soon.

all the professionally racist on twitter are mostly interested in getting one of their guys in charge of the dhs now

It is a bit scary imagining who trump will replace Kelly with at DHS, but I guess it can't get a whole lot worse than the guy who has rubber stamped all of trumps immigration bull**** so far, and said that we should consider separating kids from their parents at the border.

Yeah I get the apprehension about autocracy and government run exclusively by former military officials and as I noted about Scaramucci last week, the leftover characters Mamet couldn't fit into Glengarry Glen Ross aren't exactly ideal.

But what are we left with? Priebus out, knock on wood Bannon is next out the door -- the totality being the GOP Establishment and a bunch of insane right wing ideologues having less influence, replaced with a bunch of casino capitalists who ran low rent scams funds like Mooch and generals? It ain't Camelot but it's better than government run by Priebus and Bannon.

Kelly is an insane right-wing ideologue.

She caught Mooch screwing Priebus and that was the last straw.

So Reince is gonna spill the beans now, right?

DVaut, please factor into your Renice hammering that he was at the helm of the RNC for Trump's successful campaign and got the GOPe on board. Trump even farmed out much of the normal campaign apparatus to the RNC.

I never got why Sessions was so important to the Brown people haters when ICE is under DHS.

I say lettuce praise the absolute heck out of him. It might encourage others to defect. We are basically fighting a war. Best way to get the enemy to switch sides is to show clemency, forgive them, praise them. We need to encourage these people to stand up to Trump and the evilness of the GOP. Even if they still are scumbags.

Let's Caesar these bitches. We can hate them afterwards.

Priebus is the epitome of a political hack.

Probably get hooked up with a nice lobbyist job and STFU. Maybe in like 5 years when everyone has turned on Trump he writes his book or something. But he isn't going to rock the boat now I don't think, a loyal soldier.

lol Reice basically got booted out of the POTUS caravan when he was trying to load into the cars just off the plane. Trump just chilled on the plane.

Voter suppression and mass incarceration.

ICE is for kicking out Hispanics, DoJ is for locking up blacks. They are two separate but equally important agencies for ****ing over brown people.

I want to be clear that I'm sure Kelly is probably terrible in many ways, at least outwardly on immigration. Who knows what else. But Reince Priebus and the GOP are insane right-wing ideologues on basically all issues and his coordinating and organizing to the national GOP and Paul Ryan types gave Trump a lot of institutional backing. This portends a potential for discord with almost no downsides I can see, other than Kelly perhaps is more efficient/rigorous at achieving bad ends than Priebus who seems to have Peter Principled his way up to his failure point.

trump is cutting ties with the politicians and strengthening his ties to the military. he's preparing to react to mueller's investigation as if it's a coup, and he wants deep connections with the military when that happens
07-28-2017 , 05:42 PM
trump sure loves to publicly humiliate them on the way out. I'm surprised that hasn't back fired yet. I guess it did with Comey.
07-28-2017 , 05:48 PM
The hill writes that 2 sources says he resigned and 1 source says he was ousted.
07-28-2017 , 05:48 PM
I can't imagine that anyone of any importance within the military hierarchy has any affection or loyalty toward TRUMP.

You make it sound like the politicians he is cutting ties with were constraining Trump's worst impulses and were going to stand in front of his destruction of the country instead of leading the charge. We think if Trump really commits to firing Mueller, Reince ****ing Priebus was going to stand in the way? And if Trump fies Mueller, he's in for a huge political battle with a bunch of politicians in Congress. How are 'deep connections' with the military going to help?

I get the concerns that Kelly is an upgrade in terms of competency. Fine. But other than that, I don't understand where this is really going except for Event Horizon stuff where Congress impeaches Trump but then he orders Kelly to tell his friends in the Marine Corps he's not going or something and prepare for civil war. But then again Kelly was already part of his cabinet and I don't see Reince Priebus playing any role other than Trump's homoculus lackey in such a scenario. So I'm not really getting the concern here.

No way this is correct. He resigned. They didn't get a replacement on the plane.
