What percentage of transgenders in the military are male to female vs female to male vs gender fluid/ other individuals?

Does anyone have a rough idea? Just curious, I imagine there's a lot more female to male than male to female due to the culture of the military.

My favorite clip was the dem from CA who says, "We don't care who you love!" in response to the no Trans in the military thing. Even he can't keep all the oppressed minority groups straight, implying that all trans people are gay or some other "not normal" sexual orientation. It's a perfect example of what politics has become on both sides. Gotta stick to the script.

Does anyone have any actual stats on the number of people affected by this decision? Was the military ever really a "safe space" for people with gender dysphoria in the first place? I'd be shocked if it were more than a tenth of a percent of the overall military.

I think Trump had this meeting about the upcoming deadline for modifying military policy to accommodate gender reassignment surgeries, modifications to physical requirements, and policy changes for run of the mill personnel problems related to intolerant behaviors in the barracks, and while nobody was on board with making the changes, nobody actually wanted to be the guy in the room to suggest we just don't do it. Trump was probably bored with the awkward silence and just said, "**** it, I'll ban them. The media loves to hate me anyway, so it's fine" and got up and walked out of the room to find his phone.

Heard Fareed Zakaria talking about this on a podcast on Saturday. He said if you follow the sequence of events closely it started with Trump beginning his Presidency by talking to Taiwan before China. That resulted in the Chinese not even taking or returning any calls at all from the US government. Like none. So next Tillerson or someone was able to convince Trump to re-iterate the USA's 'one China' policy, to which the Chinese responded by approving a bunch of Chinese trademarks that the Trump organization had requested. Then during the meeting at Mar-a-lago they enacted more concessions by approving a bunch of trademarks for Ivanka Trump's products and services, and so on.

So Fareed says he was talking about that with a friend in China who told him that this is something the Chinese government is quite comfortable with and has been doing for a while with foreign leaders. Except as he pointed out, up until Trump the ones getting that sort of treatment have all been African dictators.
