The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

@Clovis8: He doesn't articulate his support. His explanations are like Rube Goldberg machines. The actual solution is simple. He wants lower taxes and hates that liberals hurt his feelings once.

"like a well oiled machine"

Quote:
At the Pentagon, the first of the three tweets raised fears that the president was getting ready to announce strikes on North Korea or some other military action. Many said they were left in suspense for nine minutes, the time between the first and second tweet. Only after the second tweet did military officials receive the news the president was announcing a personnel change on Twitter.

interesting article

Quote:
“It’s not so much the transgender surgery issue as much as we continue to let the defense bill be the mule for all of these social experiments that the left wants to try to hoist on government,” Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.), a conservative supporter of the Hartzler proposal, said last week.

He added: “It seems to me, and all due respect to everyone, that if someone wants to come to the military, potentially risk their life to save the country, that they should probably decide whether they’re a man or woman before they do that.”

hahaha, the leak about it being a cynical political ploy was actually a cover-up to make it look much less stupid than it really is.

I mostly wanted the telling boys yacht orgies stories part. But yea the take is premised on the idea that Bannon wouldn't go along with picking on LGBT minorities instead of, you know, racial minorities which seems far fetched.

Not sure if this is on the subject of The Tragic Death Of The News Media or if I just shouldn't be surprised that the only LGBT people who support Trump are themselves utterly deplorable, but let's look at who WaPo interviewed for a piece on the pro-Trump LGBT reaction to the transgender ban!

First up: Milo, who thinks transgender people are mentally ill!

Quote:
“You don’t help mentally ill trans people by sticking them on the front lines,” Yiannopoulos said. “You help them with therapy and drugs — though not, I have to stress, transition surgery. I only wish he’d gone further and banned women from combat units too, since the evidence clearly shows their presence is disastrous for both morale and performance. Baby steps?”
Next up: some guy who founded an organization called GOProud

Quote:
And that was what another prominent gay Trump supporter, GOProud co-founder Chris Barron, meant when he called Trump the “most pro-LGBT candidate ever nominated by either party.”

Wednesday morning, after batting back some criticism on Twitter from people who’d found the old tweet, Barron explained that he was referring to “radical Islam” as the threat Trump would protect gay people from.

“President Trump is committed to defeating the forces of radical Islam that seek the global extermination of LGBT people,” Barron said. “I defer to the military leaders to determine what policies around the question of trans service best allow them to win the war on radical anti-LGBT Islamic extremism.”
Oh, okay, you just hate Muslims more than you want to defend transgender people.

Aaaaand...that's it. Seriously? They couldn't find one Log Cabin Republican capable of identifying what a bigoted dip**** the president is, they just let these guys spout their BS and call it a day?

decided to be brave and go forth into the right winger take on the trans military ban

you can't have mental issues and effectively serve because it's a huge mental toll.

There you go.

the rest is just laughing at people being triggered.

But definitely on the subject of The Tragic Death Of The News Media, here's some WaPo dip**** falling over himself to honor John McCain's speech on bipartisanship shortly before 50 Republicans and Mike Pence voted to start debate on taking everyone's healthcare away

Quote:
Then the Arizona Republican, done with the niceties, delivered a 15-minute excoriation of the modern Senate. A Senate riven by partisan infighting and almost no effort to work across the aisle. A Senate that has abandoned the principle that legislative committees had ownership of the process.

A Senate so broken that the only way to even begin a health-care debate was to drag an 80-year-old man, diagnosed last week with brain cancer, 2,300 miles across the nation from Phoenix to cast that critical vote.

“Let’s trust each other. Let’s return to regular order. We’ve been spinning our wheels on too many important issues because we keep trying to find a way to win without help from across the aisle,” McCain told his colleagues, who gave him the floor for an unusual address usually reserved for a retiring senator. “We’re getting nothing done, my friends. We’re getting nothing done.”
Quote:
He spoke for more than 225 years of Senate history, trying to force his colleagues to break free of this era’s political spell. No one quite knew where he would end, almost sounding as if he were about to announce his retirement.

Almost every senator sat in his or her seat, hanging on every word. McConnell and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) twisted themselves sideways so they could look directly at McCain, his left eye still deeply swollen from the surgery.

Both leaders grew visibly emotional at times, McConnell’s face bright red as Schumer’s eyes glistened.
Go **** yourself

It's just going to keep getting worse and worse. Pretty soon the press conferences are just going to be Huckabee reading hostage letters from pretty white girls tortured by illegal immigrants, Trump handing out novelty sized checks to random people, and a televangelist running up and down the isles screaming at anyone who tries to ask a questions about how well the government is functioning that they're sinners and must repent. Got to credit Chris Hayes but Trump is going to lean in hard into the culture war as he gets deeper and deeper in the quicksand.

DJT, on the 10% bump in defense spending:

"I am sending Congress a budget that rebuilds the military, eliminates the defense sequester and calls for one of the largest increases in national defense spending in American history.”

But we gotta tighten our belts with these trans soldiers, there ain't no money trees that the military can benefit from amirite?! Have you seen their medical bills? They represent an inconsequential, infinitesimal sum relative to our DOD budget, gotta ban the trans! Fiscal responsibility ftw

CNN: How do you plan to vote on the repeal-only?
Sen. Bill Cassidy (R): You know, I'm so frustrated with the process that I'm gonna vote yes.

Trump talks about underage girls a ton. And not in the standard creepy way narcissist olds objectify young adults. He talks about sex with adolescents and dating his daughter. 10/10 creep and scum.

LOL forever and always at science denying mouth breathing Trumpkins becoming DSM-toting psychology advocates who think they can fool others into believing they know Thing One about this ****.

Feel distressed over your biological sex not matching your gender identity? Put down that gun soldier, you're too ill to fight!

The 20% or so of active duty in Iraq or Afghanistan with PTSD over the horrors of war they've experienced? LOCK AND LOAD GI JOE, go kill them muslins!
