The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

With all the talk of impeachment, the more he bashes his cabinet and alienates his secretaries the more I wonder if the inevitable outcome of all of this isn't impeachment but rather a cabinet vote that he is incapacitated due to the Russia investigation.

About the same as Trump for whining on Twitter instead of firing him.

I think he's trying to ride the coat tails of the Texas bathroom bill with the far right. Given that Republicans lost the Virginia or NC race because of their bathroom bill it doesn't seem like as much as a winner as they imagine

My guess is that he's concerned about his base holding the line. But of course playing the "what is clown-god thinking" game is dubious.

Scaramucci will be put to the test with this one. Meantime, CNN's Pentagon reporter said she asked a Pentagon spokesman about this and was referred to the White House.

It's a signal to evangelicals that he's still their boy while throwing Sessions under the bus. I don't think it's a winner, but for a guy who has trouble aligning his strategy with his best interests, it's at least coherent.

Hell, that statement is just going to create infighting between people who agree and disagree with the take that 'blue collar = intolerant'.

Haven't people in this thread been saying that about those same people?
But how will it force democrats in those states make it a major campaign plank.

The same way somehow bathroom bans have been spun to become "Democrats want MEN in the bathroom with your precious little girls!!"

Dems can either drop the issue completely and let trans people get ****ed over, or they can speak up and have it turned into "Dems want an all transgender military!!" because they suck at messaging as a group.

Unless Republicans can craft some TRANSGENDERS ARE TAKING OUR JOBS fantasy, this will have no effect on any future vote in battleground states.

Yeah. Trump is just talking to the people at his rallies because he's a narcissist and they're cheering for him.

Jon Snow: We're going to need every man, woman, and child to fight the white walkers. Not transgenders though... those tremendous medical costs.

Reasoning for the decision between Huckabee and Conway is that while I would assume both would be awful spouses, I also assume Huckabee is WAY more far-right conservative Christian than Conway, which I wouldn't be able to stand. Conway, as horrible as she appears, also seems magnitudes more intelligent than Huckabee, at least based on her educational and professional history.

I'd probably add a fourth option after several years: K Myself.

There is a high likelihood that I'm stealing this.

This is precisely the kind of wedge issue that keeps the GOP relevant. God, guns, gayz, this is red meat to them. They are masters at keeping the rubes focused on **** like this so that they'll continue to vote against their own self-interests regarding economics and healthcare.

Just take a look at the Fox News Facebook article comments about it. Everyone in there is saying "good! Mentally ill people shouldn't be in the military!" And "they just want us taxpayers to pay for their genital mutilation!"

The base loves this stuff because it normalizes their bigoted views and they fee vindicated.

Maybe he simply just hates them and everything else gained from that tweet is just a bonus.

This for sure.

A portion is likely due to some voters not knowing the difference between winning the election and winning the popular vote.

Depends on how the question was asked I suppose.

EDIT: Why do I continue to give people the benefit of the doubt? Trying to be optimistic about my faith in humanity I guess.

This was the exact question:

"Based on what you know, who received the most votes from the general population in the 2016 presidential election?"

I think what boggles me is the 9% of Clinton voters who think Trump won the popular vote.

I was under the impression trump supported session and the new fbi guy when they were appointed?
All the tweets blurred my memories and not gonna look for it.
