Fwiw I think scorning someone for who they vote for is akin to scorning someone for drinking coke instead of Pepsi. There are so many more valid reasons to dislike someone than politics. This will be my last response that's OT I lurk this thread too much and will admit I fire off posts that may be ill advised, but some of y'all are losing your mind with TDS.

I mean I see posts where people are ashamed of their own parents, FFS. but if you are venting online instead of ruining your real life networks and friendships it's probably a healthy outlet and I won't bother with another 100 post derail about it.

Speaking of Sophie's choices I honestly don't know if it would be a tragedy or a victoryif Giuliani replaces Sessions, both these dudes make my skin crawl

FWIW I don't think politician = voter. Someone can vote for somebody who sucks and I don't think they should have rocks flung at them, but I guess that's a silly take for this forum full of maniacal reactionaries.

Like I think trump sucks trucks, but I'm not gonna stop talking to my grandmother who I love dearly because she's kind of dumb and voted for him. Some of you might need to reflect on what's important in your actual lives besides ideological purity

Is he just high and riffing again? Jfc. Coke and Pepsi. It's not a sport. There are real life consequences ffs.

Yeah it's pretty amazing that he could type an email but not claim he got alerted to something important via his phone without it ringing. Does he live in 1991?

I think we need to see all of kushners emails to determine if this was his SOP.

Also lol the man wearing 25 hats in a US presidential campaign having no way of vetting the importance of a meeting in advance.

This is all why this methodology sucks. Kushner should be pushed to explain what he thought was so important about this meeting that he would attend it in the first place. Saying he left after he determined it was not important is lol.

Well it depends why she voted for trump obv. Nuance.

Mother****er you can't be a prim civility queen and an anarchist. You gotta pick at most one. (the correct choice is "neither")

It's true, most of my friends and family voted trump or at least would have if they voted, and I don't think they deserve a summary execution. Fly thinks otherwise, and on the world turns
Also what the **** are you talking about. The people looking at dying in the near future because of politics aren't your ****ty friends and garbage family, it's the residents of the Shia Crescent and people on Medicaid. **** off with this pity party bull****.

Not all differences of opinions are equal.

Abortion is a good example to me of an issue where I don't have a problem with people that have totally different opinions than me. If you believe a fetus is alive and should never be killed - that's basically a moral belief that we're probably just going to have to agree to disagree on.

But if you believe that you should be entitled to a bunch of Government services like social security, police, fire, roads to drive on, subsidies for your farm, etc etc etc., but also that poor people don't deserve health care and should be left to die. I'm getting closer to believing you're a ****ty person. I can make reasonable judgements about your character from these beliefs.

And if you're a Trumpkin, living in ignorance, and supporting an actively facist, racist, sexist, etc. person as President - I can very accurately know that you're a ****ty person.

But he had time to attend meetings he knew nothing about but were just a big time waste?

What if his staffer emailed him back instead of calling him that would have been messy.

We definitely need all of kushner and staffer/aides emails and phone records to diss this out.

Politics is literally the most important moral decision most Americans make.

But yeah, anyone who thinks Jules thinks "disliking people because of politics is invalid" may want to check out what he thinks when people defend and/or vote for oh, let's say, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
07-24-2017 , 05:06 PM
civility queen? What would your allies think of your tossing around terms of oppression like "queen" "anchor baby" and so on? Again I guess if you are preserving your irl networks in favor of slurring up message boards as an outlet, it's healthy and you do you

Can't forget catching a temp ban for anti semitism, what would the ADL think of that one I wonder?

Also I have friends and family who voted Clinton and I did not throw them out with the bath water in favor of only associating with GJ voters because real people aren't garbage people like hyper partisans are. Also because I don't know any Gary Johnson voters except for online lol

Totally true, provided drinking one of them causes 30,000 Americans die the next year because they can't get health insurance.

I mean, politics reveals a lot about what is important to a person, and if they believe and support certain things - I will definitely lose a little respect. Like, is someone supports David Duke running for office - I definitely am judging them because of what it reveals about their potential beliefs. I had a really long time family friend post something about "heritage, not hate" and absolutely REFUSED to take anything I said into consideration when thinking about the topic. I lost a ton of respect, because it revealed a lot about her, her ability to empathize, and her ability to grow and adapt. I'm not saying she had to change her mind, I'm saying she just completely shut down when I tried to talk about why some people had issues.

Isn't it just remarkable that Paul Manafort claimed the same thing 2 weeks ago?

He "didn't read the email to the end", unfortunately missing important details such as how the meeting was part of the Russian government's effort to help Donald Trump win the election.
