I don't know, but I do think its strange that he only mentions the Russian lawyer and doesn't take note of any other Russians in the room. He also doesn't explain why he reached the immediate conclusion that adoption was the only issue to be discussed...especially in light of the fact that the meeting was supposed to be about dirt on Hillary. Kinda hard to believe that he wouldn't at least wait to see where the conversation went after the adoption part was finished.

Yeah, I guess Trump is probably too stupid to use a dogwhistle, but it's definitely anti-Semitic. 0% chance he calls any non-Jewish person sleazy. He would use corrupt (like he does for Hillary) or something else.

Waiting patiently for the kushner leaks to drop........

Hopefully they'll wait until after Jared's said something stupid under oath.

Disagree. He was just looking for a new adjective he hadn't used yet.

Trump has used "sleaze" and or "sleazy" before when referring to Anthony Weiner and also when he didn't like a question from a reporter from ABC.

Close to 100%. He went to one of the best law schools in the country and certainly has had a lot of dealings with FCPA. And his denials are only plausible if he went out of his way to avoid knowing what happened in the room.

only thing that makes any sense at all to me if trump is actually thinking of firing sessions is he wants him to go hard after hillary clinton and he's balking.
07-24-2017 , 12:13 PM
More likely he wants Sessions to fire Mueller and take the blame ala when they fired Comey and tried to pretend it was Rod Rosenstein's idea, and he's balking.

He's a busy guy, no way he has the time to scroll down in an email and see what a meeting's about.

Can sessions fire mueller when he's recused from that whole investigation? "mr trump, I'm recused go ask rod".

Still think this is more about clinton as he keeps whining how nobody's investigating her.

Except they did get caught. The IC has loads of info. The legislature knows to the level of veto proof votes on sanctions.

I had no idea why that topic was being raised and quickly determined that my time was not well-spent at this meeting. Reviewing emails recently confirmed my memory that the meeting was a waste of our time and that, in looking for a polite way to leave and get back to my work, I actually emailed an assistant from the meeting after I had been there for ten or so minutes and wrote "Can u pls call me on my cell? Need excuse to get out of meeting."
This part cracks me up.

Kushner couldn't manage to get himself out of the meeting by himself. It's especially funny because he's obviously on his computer/phone already and could just as easily say "Sorry, something important came up...".

His approach creates a paper trail that he left the meeting.

I saw an episode of Cops or First 48 or something where a woman's boyfriend committed a robbery, left the money on the table and then went to sleep. She woke up and took a $10 bill off the pile and went and bought cigarettes with it. She was charged as an accessory to the original crime and sentenced to like five years. Reason given was that she knew of the crime and not only didn't report it but used the proceeds.

So you're in the room and witness treason happening, but don't try to stop it or report it, and the proceeds benefited you. Doesn't sound too different.

Since I posted 2x about this, I obviously agree. Matter of fact, my theory was that while speaking to Putin unsupervised, they coordinated a plan to get Mueller out. It involved taking Sessions's pulse first, then staging a political hit job if he wasn't game.

So Trump returned home, asked Sessions to get rid of Mueller and had to go to step 2 once he refused. It seems to make sense like this because of Kislyak's participation and the timing of Trump's strange NYT interview against all wishes, the obvious bold statements targeting Sessions, Mueller, Rosenstein, McCabe (full on assault on every investigation and department he could touch) => refusal of Sessions to resign, shocking everyone but because Jefferson already knew what Trump was up to => "randomly timed" WaPo Russia/Sessions leak implicating re-re-perjury the day right after NYT => Trump's strong CAPS tweet drawing attention to the WaPo "leak" right after => 2 further tweets against Sessions over the weekend and this morning.

Could be this way. Seems more likely than WhatAbout(going after)Clinton or other explanations.

The law doesn't work the same way on TV - or in real life - as it does in Trumpworld.

Yeah, sorry, this is clearly true.

This is where it would be interesting to subpoena all of the emails he's sent his assistant asking to get out of a meeting.

If he doesn't do this regularly, it would sure be interesting to know the meetings he was in when he did do it.

Not just any old undisclosed meeting, but another Mayflower Hotel attendee. If everyone remembers Comey's testimony, this was the same event where Trump made a little known speech, but more importantly it's the same place Comey referred to when saying there were details making Sessions's involvement in a Russian related investigation problematic that he couldn't discuss in an open setting.
