The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

This is awfully strange. It's just a boring tweet from Brian (CNN) promoting Kellyanne Conway on his Sunday show. The replies are way out of whack though. Universal boycotts all the way down. Questions are raised...

1) Where's the bot army? CNN and all hosts have been flooded in every tweet forever. This is new. Did they switch sides? Did Twitter remove 100% of bots in unison overnight?

2) Why IS CNN letting her, Gorka and others spew lies worse than their panel Trumpists (who shouldn't be on either, but it's somewhat understandable) and interrupting/pushing back so much less? From my experience, it's been going on at this level for a few weeks now. This is not good for ratings or viewership, so what gives? Trump's people are obviously setting the terms for these "special" guests, I just don't see why CNN is complying when it's against their interests big time. What kind of threats are being made? It's reminiscent of Trump using the Enquirer MAGAzine and a private investigator to harass the host's teenage children trying to intimidate Morning Joe into giving him positive coverage.

Note: I drafted this post before Mooch went on Tapper and **** all over CNN this morning. Even though "The comm director is new to this. He doesn't know the intracacies of ****ting on CNN. He's just new", we can still add his name to the above list.

And whats crazy is how low the expectations were for him. If he just stopped tweeting after taking the oath and didn't fire Comey he would be around 45% approval. Sure, he's pushing a deeply unpopular healthcare bill that was the opposite of what he campaigned on. And even Republicans in Congress admit that he doesn't remotely understand what is in the bill.......

But he hasn't gotten into a twitter flame war with Rosie O'Donnell as POTUS!! Just like Washington/Jefferson/Lincoln! He gets it. So Presidential!

Trump's RCP approval has been stuck at 40% for the last 6 weeks.

Based on the news today sounds like Kushner just dunking the whole Middle East peace thing. If only he'd been in charge earlier probably avoid the Yom Kippur war.

Yeah, his approval rating is actually not THAT bad....alot of republicans basically assume that being a racist means you are a good person and good at your job and somebody who has earned the right to get the benefit of any doubt.

But His disapproval rating this early is peerless despite the huge curve on which he is graded because even people who voted for him get that he's a little dim.

According to RCP his favorable rating has gone down 2 points since he started as POTUS. Two. Hillary's has gone down more.

His disapproval rating was higher at the day of the election.

In normal times with normal brained people everyone collectively would be wtf. What is the point of getting testimony not under oath. People demanding such conditions would be outed as angle shooters and people hiding something.

As horrible as trump is congress continues to be the problem. And I don’t mean in a partisan way. The total of congress has been the disease of the federal government for a very long time.

Sure some of us who are more naive thought when things got serious the humans in congress would step up and do stuff. My bad. They all pretty much suck.

Mooch made a weird comment today. Jared is being "interviewed" (not testifying) behind closed doors, not under oath, with no cameras or transcripts, for max of 2 hours, and Scaramucci said "I suspect this will be the last time he ever talks about Russia again." Huhhhh?

As far as Jr and Manafort go, the move for Dems is obviously to sandbag and not reveal what questions they will really be facing in the fall, right? If they won't be under oath until then, all this week does is help them practice for the real game. Why let them? Rs will be limited in what they can ask if Dems don't comply.

Also, does everybody know what crimes the Trump family and GOP committed except for me? What in the ****ety ****?

Fake Einstein quote advice applies whether under oath or not, I'm sure.

Can someone explain to me what Scaramucci's motivation to take the position is?

Based on his deleted tweets it sounds like he really has almost no Trumpkin views. He is also rich already.

Obviously rich people like getting richer, so I could get that. But those people generally don't make public those view that their team doesn't hold. So it seems like those things he said were actually his deeply held beliefs (well, maybe not deeply). So if his goal was to just go hardcore #TeamTaxBreaks, he never would have tweeted those things in the first place.

Alternatively, if those are things he really didn't believe, then why say them in the first place? If he had some sort of hidden agenda, what could it have been and how could it have also been served by becoming a professional Trump slurper.

I really don't know much about the guy and I'll probably do a bit of reading later, but I figure someone on here may already have this figured out, which would save me some time.

That's a little too cryptic for me.

Scaramucci met with Russians and opposes sanctions.

So maybe Putin has another pee tape.

I got uncomfortable seeing this narrative lately, but even more uncomfortable today seeing that this particular tweet got linked to me through Donald Trump Jr:

i don't have an answer but will say that if it's purely to try and get richer, it would seem like there would be easier/less stressful ways of going about it. plus, i also saw that he donated to Obama and Hillary so it would appear as though just getting richer is not the main driver, if one at all.

Sorry, I thought it was decent. There are 195 countries. uDevil posted the tip of what we know about Scaramucci's probable iceberg. The Russian sanctions thing is all I'm aware of so far too.

I think there's just a ton of prestige that comes along with having a White House office, esp if you're one of these type-A personality guys.

It could also be part of what Trump is talking about in that tweet with Rs protecting him. He may have been thinking of Mooch's dick slurping at the time. And Mooch could have taken the job for that reason also; to protect Trump (in addition to himself?).
