You don't think it odd that the WAPO compares today's popularity against his popularity spike that happened when he let the bombs loose?
what's wrong with that? he's been on a steady decline since then. mid april ist the obvious point to compare.

36% not even 6 months in is abysmal. nixon and gwb were around 25 towards the end, that seems to be the floor.

A gem from that WaPo poll is that 60% of Americans believe Russia tried to influence the election. Sixty. It is actually UP from their previous poll in April. JFC.

All of the Republican Senators except Rand Paul voted for sanctions. Curious. I wonder why they would want to punish Russia for imaginary election meddling invented by the Fake News media and Deep State libs. Oh well, best not to reexamine my views.

The electorate in this country is shockingly ignorant.

This is nothing new, approval ratings virtually always spike after military action.

It's not really ignorance though. It's a disregard of facts. What I mean is, it's not that those people are struggling to become well-informed and are being thwarted by the evils of Fox or whatever. It's that they're not interested in hearing anything which contradicts existing beliefs.

Well 36% is an outlier. I wonder also if the deterioration of trust in the mainstream media has skewed polls to appear more anti-Trump than they should. Iirc, most polls will scale so that Republicans are represented in the proper proportion, but they could not control for MAGA chuds abstaining at a higher rate than SeattleLou type Republicans.

Do pollsters announce their affiliations when they call? Saying you're a WaPo poll versus a Fox News poll seems like it could skew the results bigly. The latest Fox poll (from June) has Trump at 44% approval, 50% disapproval among registered voters.
. 36 percent isn't much of an outlier. The 538 aggregator of polls right now has him at like 39/55. Hell even the current rolling Rasmussen poll only has him at 43 approval. He is deeply underwater.

I'm sure they know how to conduct a non biased poll. It's literally their only job.

JFC they are sick individuals watching Fox. You guys remember Shepard Smith complaining to Chris Wallace on Friday? I think the video was posted ITT.

Anyway, Shep is a Fox host who said, "Why is it lie after lie after lie? The level of deception is mind boggling." He was talking about the whole Jr email Russian thing.

Since then, Fox has been getting bombed with pissed off viewers wanting him to be fired.

Can you believe that ****?? These ******s actually think if a journalist isn't hiding the TrumpRussian dirt they're not doing their job right.

It's also not having a full appreciation as to the severity of having a foreign power - an adversarial one at that - trying to influence our elections.

I've heard things like: Oh, so what? Nothing illegal has been proven and the Dems just wanna make something out of nothing because they lost. Stop whining. Trump is still our president like it or not. Along with: What's wrong with having a good relationship with Russia?

What's more incredulous to me is the dismissal of flat out lies coming from this administration. Even IF you can accept the above premises, how is it not frightening that the highest office in the land is coming out and lying day after day? So it's not just a disregard for facts. There are plenty of stupid people around who don't care about facts. But since when did people start accepting being lied to as commonplace and no big deal? This isn't even a political party things anymore. The most hard core conservative Republican and the left leaning libs should be able to agree that lies coming out of the White House on a daily basis is something everyone needs to be concerned about even if they are too stupid politically to care about the meddling in our elections by a foreign power.

All the clips I've seen online have made me believe that Shep is a good journalist who actually cares and isn't a hack like everyone else on Fox. Doesn't surprise me that people hate him.

Pissed off viewers or paid Russian trolls?

Also, if there isn't one already, there should be a legal forum. It seems there are plenty of attorneys here or people well versed in law to answer some of my questions such as:

-Why is Sessions still the AG after it's been shown beyond reasonable doubt that he perjured himself to get the position? That IS a crime, right? I'm not just getting that from "fake" news? (btw- should I be surprised if it turns out he was one of the mystery people in that meeting June 9th? Because I won't be).

-Why does Kushner still have security clearance?

-Why does Ivanka still have security clearance?

These are people in high positions and should be held accountable.

Lastly, Jake Tapper made a good case for connecting some dots. It seems that on the very same day that Don Jr. learned he would be getting what he thought was some really good dirt on HRC, Trump declared on the campaign trail that he would soon be making a speech on (probably) Monday listing all of Clinton's misdeeds. That speech never came because Junior never got the dirt he was promised in that meeting.

There is another important dot Tapper connected. Don Jr. requested a phone call in one of the emails and was assured it would happen. The next emails never mentioned the phone call, but did imply that Don Jr. was now aware of something that could've only came from that phone call. Don Jr. flat out denied the call ever took place.

I think CNN and others need to immediately stop with the 24/7 high ratings rants and outrage coverage and just start just reporting on the FACTS. Get rid of the panels! This is not even a debate of opinion anymore and I don't care which panelist is able to eloquently make another look like a fool. It was fun for a while watching people like Ana Navarro rant about Trump and put his apologists in their place. But the time for ranting is over and we as a country need to start prosecuting all these misdeeds and lies in a more productive way. I think this is best accomplished by getting rid of these panelist talk shows and going back to good old fashion reporting of just the facts. I could be wrong.

Trump is just straight trolling with these US open tweets.

Tom Price is infuriating. Has to be a bottom 10 human being in the US right now.

Because the law doesn't uphold itself and people (congressional GOP) are choosing to not do their job. Your complaint is just another variation of people reaching for a higher authority that does not exist. The only recourse is public protest, followed by civil disobedience if that doesn't work, and then open revolt if necessary.

There is no secret final boss to save us if the executive and legislative branches collectively decide to stop functioning in an appropriate manner. We either force them to do so ourselves, or they get away with it. So far, they're getting away with it.

Willful ignorance is still ignorance

It is actually the largest approval rating ever. Not even FDR got that high.

He and wallace are the only ones to ever question trump at any point. I have them down as guys I probably wouldn't agree with much on policy, but they are at least genuine people.

It's mystifying to me at this point how people, even the brainwashed, can't tell what a petty, blowhard narcissist this guy is at this point. Holy ****ing ****, stop tweeting about your ****ing polls, good God.

The best part is that a lot of people who are either uninterested in politics or already support him would never hear about that poll. Now he broadcasts how much of a terrible, hated fraud he is to a much wider audience.

This is a real misunderstanding of trump's psychology. He literally doesn't see the 60%. They don't exist in his mind. Just like the only person he wants to please is the one the room, he doesn't understand some people don't support him because his ego can't take the idea.

To him he is supported by millions, not hated by millions more.

But he does worry every single second about what Mueller is digging around in, or what the media might expose next, or what it is that his 36% absolutely cannot learn and how close we are to getting there.

The only good news is no matter how compromised our President is, Putin is limited in his movements and he knows it. He can't just murder freely or attack freely, which means his takeover will take a little longer than if three were no press and no investigations.

It's literally a race against the clock though. We need to stay focused on both Russia's activities and our upcoming elections right now, with a side of Trumpcare.

It means what everything trump and his supporters say; the exact opposite of the literal meaning.

40% isn't bad given his entire admin is under investigation and they haven't really done anything policy wise?
