The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

No, there's still a small handful of patriotic republicans who care about our country and are worth listening to. None of them in power, sadly.

It's kinda funny that this is, like, the type of people that served in the GWB administration and are ~garbage tier human beings in any world other than the one where Donald Trump is president

The very notion of Trump discussing election hacking with Putin is nauseating and an insult to the intelligence of anyone who operates above a third grade reading level.
07-10-2017 , 12:14 AM
Lindsey Fainting Couch Graham said he doesn't know anyone outside of trump who doesn't believe Russia hacked the US. Doesn't only like 40% of GOP voters believe that?

Edit

I guess it's only 25% of GOP voters who think Russia had nothing to do with the hack.

And why do the supposedly "sane" members of the GOP feel the need to praise Trump every time he manages to speak in public without pissing himself?

Evan McMullin and David Jolly come to mind. Even Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney are respectable. Maybe Kasich in some ways.

The bar has been lowered to the point that scumbags are all of a sudden reasonable folk.

I'd like to think that they're all true disbelievers, but unfortunately I think that a lot of the reason why they may have the viewpoints that they do is precisely because they are not in power.

I'm sure every GOP congresscritter is smart enough to see that Trump is an idiot. However, Trump is very popular with the base, so to speak out against them may well cost them an election. That potential personal loss seems to outweigh any patriotic sentiments they may have, so they support Trump despite knowing he is a potentially dangerous moron.

The reason it is difficult to evaluate guys like these is that they have nothing to lose by being anti-Trump. They aren't up for re-election for anything. If they were, it might be a different story.

Jeb is probably butthurt he lost the nom to Trump and that alone may be enough for him to be anti-Trump for life. In addition he doesn't need to win an election and is not very likely to run for anything else again. Even if he was in office right now, he is already rich as ****, so if he were to lose a hypothetical re-election bid, it doesn't really matter.

Romney is like Jeb without the direct butthurt. Not in office, rich as ****. He can say what he wants.

McMullin sure seems earnest. But once again, if he were a sitting congressman, it would not surprise me in the least if became one of these constantly concerned/disturbed reps that nevertheless votes for what Trump wants.

Don't really know much about Jolly or what he has specifically said wrt Trump, but as he's not in office right now he doesn't really have any skin in the game.

Are these guys patriots? Maybe. But I'd consider them a whole lot more patriotic if they demonstrated a tendency to put country before their own interests (you know, like actual patriots). In each case, their stances cost them basically nothing.

Jeb! could be popular after all the damage Trump does in the next 4-8 years as being anti-Trump.

the fact that the repeal and replace is dead in its current form, is a glimmer of decency from some of them GOP Senators

Does no one remember this movie? "It's the smart move, Tessio was always smarter" sure doesn't sound like Trump to me.

edit lol: apparently neither do I. Riverman's mistake was from Part 2.

You're right in that he did betray the Corleones the way Trump betrayed America. The Corleones are America? Ok, time for bed lol.

He didn't try his bs hand-shakes on Xi, Obama, Merkel and every Saudis he met.

He knows when he is the cuck in the room.

Good article should read

“It became clear to me that this was the true agenda all along and that the claims of potentially helpful information were a pretext for the meeting,” Mr. Trump said.

Read that last part again: “the claims of potentially helpful information were a pretext for the meeting.”

Trump Jr. confirmed that he went into the meeting expecting to receive information from the Russian lawyer that could hurt Clinton. That is a breathtaking admission.
My favorite comment from that article:

Quote:
Eric, having finally shaken off the burden of being the dumbest Trump, has announced plans to get a girlfriend and run for President of Oklahoma in 2019.

The sad reality is that while I'm sure the Trumps are dumb, the more likely thing is that they have figured out that it's probably politically advantageous to be seen as breaking the law to hurt Democrats rather than simply being lawfully lobbied for a more prosaic thing. The base is hungry for stories that the Trumps go to any lengths to hurt mortal enemy Hillary Clinton. That's something they can celebrate and rally around. If the Trumps take meetings with the Russians to discuss boring stuff, that might be an optics problem.

Right winger reaction to hearing Trumps take meetings with Russians without clear detail as to why they met: "well hold on, perhaps some of the accusers were right and these Trumps are up to no good"
Right winger reaction to hearing Trumps take meetings with Russians with the purpose of criminally colluding to hurt Hillary Clinton: "thank god, finally someone putting America first!"

Man I have a deep hatred for Kellyanne Conway that gets worse each time I hear her lie on TV. I have very very briefly dated women who lie as much as her. They couldn't understand why I stopped answering their calls.

Putin must have been trolling Trump with that cyber-security alliance. I can imagine Putin and his cronies laughing their asses off when they saw Trump's tweet.

So ummm, I can't be the only one that reads this as "I'm giving the country away" right?
