"The big lie: nazi roots of the american left"

Saw this being posted in some of the more idiotic parts of fb. This is like an unprecedented level of gaslighting. How do you even combat this? It's completely insane.

idk if my pony is slow as I wade through feelings-gate 2017, but in some Trump news, NYT is reporting that two weeks after Trump clinched the nomination, DT Jr., Kushner, and Manafort met with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer

Quote:
Two weeks after Donald J. Trump clinched the Republican presidential nomination last year, his eldest son arranged a meeting at Trump Tower in Manhattan with a Russian lawyer who has connections to the Kremlin, according to confidential government records described to The New York Times.

The previously undisclosed meeting was also attended by Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, as well as the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, according to interviews and the documents, which were outlined by people familiar with them.

While President Trump has been dogged by revelations of undisclosed meetings between his associates and Russians, this episode at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016, is the first confirmed private meeting between a Russian national and members of Mr. Trump’s inner circle during the campaign. It is also the first time that his son Donald J. Trump Jr. is known to have been involved in such a meeting.
DT Jr.'s admission of the meeting contradicts things he previously said in interviews:

Quote:
He [DT Jr.] added: “I was asked to attend the meeting by an acquaintance, but was not told the name of the person I would be meeting with beforehand.”

Donald J. Trump Jr. had denied participating in any campaign-related meetings with Russian nationals when he was interviewed by The Times in March. “Did I meet with people that were Russian? I’m sure, I’m sure I did,” he said. “But none that were set up. None that I can think of at the moment. And certainly none that I was representing the campaign in any way, shape or form.”

Not going to read back through this whole bs fest but I just wanted to say as a fairly long time reader of this forum and sometimes poster I think that Fly is mostly right (and I have been the target of a few of his barbs along the way.) and is certainly a much better poster than the Dids/regurgitation crowd that mostly posts here. We certainly haven't always agreed regarding correct liberal strategy but I think he is right and has been right that racism is extremely rampant long before that was the popular viewpoint both in this forum and in the world at large. He was certainly right about that long before I came to that conclusion. That is to his credit. I am much more turned off by the Dids/RepLOL crowd who treat fellow posters with disdain because they saw it on John Oliver or the like than the posters like Fly/Dvaut who have actual original thought.

You laugh at how he spent a good time in federal prison for crimes then spent a year checking into hotels under a fake name to have an affair while everyone dumb enough to believe his easily refuted garbage pretends to be a Christian.

So the latest Trump is that him bashing women who accused him of sexual assault was just heated campaign rhetoric while his son, by their account, was duped by Democrats into meeting with a Russian to talk about child adoption which people in the know will tell you is code for Russian sanctions because Russia put the hold on American adoptions of Russian children because of the sanctions.

Sounds like white people who complain that, "If I was black, it'd be easier to get into an ivy league school."

Also, is Putin the only one that Trump does a normal handshake with? Look at the video. It was a regular handshake. No alpha bull**** or weird antics.

It's hilarious how when Trump says "everyone" he means "himself." Is that a narcissistic thing, where he equates his thoughts or thinking with everyone? Remember when "no one knew how complicated health care is." Same thing there.

Yup. And NYT are one of the good ones. Your last sentence kinda says it all.

That's a good show that clip is from, it's called The Insiders, it's a panel show simulcast on ABC TV and radio where they discuss the week in politics. Because it's a program for politics nerds, the politicians they get on tend to be a lot franker in speaking about behind the scenes political reality than they would be on a commercial show.

Uhlmann is not exactly speaking truth to power there, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump fans constitute 0.00% of the audience.

Bob Dole has no pressure to toe a party line now that he is out of office. He can speak honestly.

Bob Dole lauds Trump’s 'successful' European trip

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) praised President Trump’s trip to Europe this week, calling his speech in Poland "one for the ages" and saying that Americans*“should be proud" of*his efforts.
In a statement released by the White House and touted on social media, Dole called Trump's speech in Warsaw a "stirring articulation of the values and shared goals that bind us together with the Polish people and with millions of others around the world who seek to live in freedom."

Dole, the 1996 Republican presidential nominee, also remarked on Trump completing "a number of critically important strategic meetings" at the Group of 20 summit in Hamburg, Germany.
"Americans should be proud of the strong American leadership being restored by President Trump. More importantly they should be proud to live in a country that stands for the values he has so ably expressed, shared, and defended," he said.

Man if there was going to be a group of Republicans I would have expected to turn on this mother****er in an instant, it would have been legitimate war heroes. They're like his most dependable deplorables!
