I know this isn't new territory, although this time it's a bunch of lies and nonsense in front of a global panel of fact checkers.

The biggest lie was when he said Obama did nothing at all about Russia's interference because he thought Hillary was going to win. If Trump was in the lead, Obama would have punished Russia...IF it's true that Russia was responsible.

The whole China thing is sickening. Knowing Trump and from what we learned in public reports, the conversation between Trump and Xi at Mar-a-Lago probably went like this...

Xi: You have to stop your China bashing, especially about currency manipulation. That's a huge lie.

Trump: OK, I will change the way I talk about China, but you have to help me out. There are 36 Trump trademarks waiting for approval for a long time, my daughter needs help with some regulations on her shoes, and my son-in-law wants to hook up Chinese oligarchs with entry into the US in exchange for 500k investments into his family business. Oh, and by the way, can you also put some pressure on North Korea?

Xi: We have a deal for your family's interests. I'll see what can be done about North Korea. I'll get back to you on that.

(Public Announcement by POTUS)
"President Xi from China and I had a very productive meeting. They're going to try to help us with the North Korea situation."

Now, he idly stands by and watches everyone in Congress, in the media, and everywhere else blame China for not putting adequate pressure on NK. Pretty sure this is the very definition of disgraceful.

And as you've recently seen on this very forum most "liberals" are really conservative reactionaries

I've heard about that Access Hollywood tape drowning out Obama's IC Russia announcement. Did we ever find out who was behind that release? I thought it was NBC or one of the "anti-Trump" crowd, and that the timing conflict was coincidental.

I'm all for him posting as I take him to be sincere and interested in politics.
They are more informed on a whole lot of issues that i generally stay away from. It looks very helpful to have studied law for example, its alot easier to understand policies and congress stuff etc. I dont really pretend to have any knowledge of these things apart from the superficial stuff.

That doesnt mean that im less informed on the topics that i pretend to know anything about. If your analysis of why people are voting like they do ends with "oh they are just incompetent" or "oh they are just evil" then i tend to think that people are fooling themselves or are in lack of intellectual curiosity. Our side is filled with people that are intelligent honest people that have gotten everything right on politics and the other side are imcompetent or evil people that have gotten everything wrong. How reflected, we are talking about half the population here.

I tend to think that i dont have supreme understanding of things just because im a atheist and liberal. I think structures in society decides alot of who you are and what you will grow up to be. For example i tend to think that if i were born in scandinavia i would likely be an atheist like i am, and i tend to think that if i was born in iran or saudi i would be a muslim and if i were born in the countryside in the US i might have been christian and maybe an atheist if born in a big city. So its easy to sit in an atheist camp and tell religious people that they are incompetent dummies when you would likely be one yourself if the condition was right in your childhood even if your intellectual capacities or iq was the same. For example there is another thread here where there are some religous ppl discussing and they are probably not dumb, they probably just have different configurations in their head and different structures around them when growing up. They might be more intelligent than a whole lot of the atheists around here. Now this is an example of religion, i think when it comes to politics you can think in a similar direction too, there seems to be a significant geographic element in deciding your political affiliation, just like religion. And like i have mentioned, there are some things we already know is different between liberals and conservatives on the brain level and that is Morals.

This just shows your bias. He criticized those acting badly without integrity, not the entire institutions. If Trump criticized Bernie Madoff we would we not say he is criticizing the entire American Investment Community. Trump is saying one thing, you are saying he is saying something else.

David, i see you have your own theory of the moral thing but this is what im talking about.

Liberals and conservatives are like a cat being angry at a dog because they dont understand each other and this is why. Its almost pointless to sit around and be angry that others have different stuff in their heads. Like i have mentioned Ted Cruz supporters are drastically different from us liberals, but just like us they are fighting for what they feel is right too just like we do. Rationality isnt an important thing, your feelings and moral intuitions is a imporant thing.

That isnt to say that there arent some bad things going on in the right wing like the xenophobia. But as i have mentioned the fear that demographics changes cause are a key factor driving people on to the far right wing movements. I would view it as a structural problem, create more policies to let things happen more gradually for example. Then less people would support the far right wing and the general political atmosphere would be moved more to the left.

Buddy, i used Shift in a huge post before you mentioned it.

On politics you are passionate about your beliefs and i like to see that!

The reason the US isn’t attacked now is because of their power. It’s silly to think it was easier to physically attack the US 100-225 years ago, when we had many wars on American soil.
There is simply no historical evidence to support any of this. Who would have attacked Canada in the absence of the US?

There have been 43922 posts itt and this is the most disingenuous one, by far. That is impressive. There is no chance you believe it because doing so would render the believer so stupid as to be unable to operate a computer to make said post.

Here is the epitome of Trumpism. Hui Chen, an anti-corruption lawyer at the DOJ, just resigned because she was seeing an unbelievable amount of corruption in the government, from Trump at the top on down. What do Trumpists say?

"Go back to China"
"#DrainTheSwamp"
"#MAGA"
Etc...

Talk about completely swinging & missing the point!

Idk who would be occupying the continental US in this counterfactual, but a Russian Alaska would be fairly threatening.

Trump's idea of MAGA is to totally destroy America's credibility in the world and to discredit it's entire intelligence infrastructure.

Why should anyone believe it's assessment of NK if they are never right about anything?

The opposite of being a war mongering nation is not isolationism. Canada has troop in many countries right now. The big difference is we were largely asked by those Nations to be there and are serving in a peace keeping capacity.
