When FASCISTS keep trying to push you over it!

Bits of it have aged super badly but it stays special. RIP Rik Mayall, gone way too soon.

Maybe, both are superb so I don't want to quibble but HOC was very much of it's time and place. Very hard for people who didn't live in the UK through the Thatcher era to get it all.

Dated but I strongly recommend 'A very Peculiar Practice' for those who enjoy surreal political comedy from the Thatcher era. Altered priorities ahead ...

A noted academic from Warwick university recently said in conversation that Warwick university was a long way from anywhere. I was the only one who enjoyed the reference - quite possibly including him!

Redditor Han*******Solo, the guy who posted the Trump/CNN clip the president tweeted, has apologized to @CNN, the media, and others.

https://twitter.com/Walldo/status/882344790376894465

Interesting insight into the mind of a Trump troll.

He had posted much worse stuff than the Trump/CNN thing and was getting exposed IRL, so I presume he was worried about losing his job and generally having his life ruined.

The apology came after CNN's KFile identified the man behind "HanA**holeSolo." Using identifying information that "HanA**holeSolo" posted on Reddit, KFile was able to determine key biographical details, to find the man's name using a Facebook search and ultimately corroborate details he had made available on Reddit.
....
CNN is not publishing "HanA**holeSolo's" name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again. In addition, he said his statement could serve as an example to others not to do the same.

CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.

Welp, looks like you're right. Disappointed, as the guy wrote a pretty solid apology.

Dudes freaked out.

After Trump tweeted the video on Sunday, "HanA**holeSolo" took to Reddit to say he was "honored," writing "Holy s—!! I wake up and have my morning coffee and who retweets my s—post but the MAGA EMPORER himself!!! I am honored!!"
Sheesh the Prez got him good. That MAGA emporer is gonna get someone hurt I guarantee it.

Knowing the guy is a the_donald reg, I construe the statement as 50 percent cya and 50 percent tongue in cheek, made with a wink to the t_d crowd. Zero sincerety.

I just started it. I saw HyperNormalisation not too long ago. Not sure the Chapo House episode will be worth it - they are sometimes funny, but I'm old and don't get a lot of their references. The first joke so far was "Brandon Wardell - HypeBeastNormalisation" and I'm 0 for 1.

Merkel's Party No Longer Describing U.S. As A 'Friend'
"In their campaign program for the German election, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives have dropped the term 'friend' in describing the relationship with the United States."

The Trump Train is still chugging along Putin's tracks.

Rik Mayall was definitely awesome. I must have watched the 4th season of Blackadder at least 5 times and that was my favorite ep. New Statesman was also great.

Wowzers. 89 ****ing percent of Republicans trust Trump more than CNN.

That means a whopping 89% of Rs (compared to what, 6% of Dems?!) don't fact check what's coming out of his mouth. It's also right up there with the amount of Republicans who believe miracles from their religion literally happened.

Conclusion: Republicans are gullible, and easily brainwashed.

Exclusive: Astonishing poll about Trump and media

Forty-four out of 50 state reject Trump's voter fraud commission's request for information.
CNN reported that as of Tuesday afternoon, Hawaii and New Jersey had not responded to its inquiry into the matter.

Florida and Nebraska are reportedly analyzing the panel’s request, while six states are still waiting for a letter from the commission.

Four of those states – Michigan, New Mexico, South Carolina and West Virginia – have already refused to comply with the administration’s request, according to CNN.

If you live in Hawaii, New Jersey, Florida or Nebraska, email your state government and ask them to tell the Trump Fraud Commission to Eat ***** and Die.

No State submitted yet, right?

Also, do we know if they're using the email list of COMPLAINERS to target them (now or in the future)? Or is that still illegal?

Yeah, saw that before. The comments showed his other moments too: Forgetting to sign the EOs, forgetting to shake hands with Netanyahu (and Merkel, or was that purposeful?) and a couple of others.

Good Lord that Politico article. 9 whole illegal voters: 6 GOP, 3 DEM...and one of them an honest mistake from a guy living legally in 2 states who voted once for POTUS and in both states for the locals!

I suspect at least some of that might be explained by the fact that people who think Trump is a lying idiot may no longer identify themselves as Republicans. However, that's still obviously not a lot of people.

Here, add this one to the pile of trash. At least the dates are getting closer.* Dunno if that's good or bad. Bad I think.

It's hard to separate Trump from GOP anymore, since they are so mashed together. He's a rubber stamp for them, and they believe the promises he made.

[rant]Except for Russia. He is NOT a rubber stamp when it's against Russia. ALWAYS ****ING RUSSIA! And the Republi****s don't catch on. How???[/rant]

Anyway, the big problem is that Trump promised the public the opposite of what he promised GOP. We're seeing the results of that incompetence right now, these last weeks. The Healthcare battle, as fierce as it is, should not be a surprise to the people who knew he overpromised at the time, or anyone who knows Trump well enough to spot specific lies.

I must confess though, for a long time I believed that Donald Trump lied like everybody else, just more frequently. I never thought he disregarded reality enough to lie equally as often about important things. What a sin.
