lol the Time magazine cover Trump framed of himself in his golf clubs is fake and photoshopped
Quote:
The framed copy of Time Magazine was hung up in at least four of President Trump’s golf clubs, from South Florida to Scotland. Filling the entire cover was a photo of Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump: The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!” the big headline said. Above the Time nameplate, there was another headline in all caps: “TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS . . . EVEN TV!”

This cover — dated March 1, 2009 — looks like an impressive memento from Trump’s pre-presidential career. To club members eating lunch, or golfers waiting for a pro-shop purchase, it seemed to be a signal that Trump had always been a man who mattered. Even when he was just a reality-TV star, Trump was the kind of star who got a cover story in Time.

But that wasn’t true.

The Time cover is a fake.

First question to Breitbart, who asks about the CNN story that was retracted.

I seriously have no idea why the non-idiot media bothers with these. You know what you're going to get every time and it's not even newsworthy anymore.

"We have no idea if this video is accurate, but everyone should watch it." -Dumbest Human in the Room Right Now

Not two minutes after complaining about unnamed, unverified sources.

ETA here's the exchange

So can we conclude that the TICK TICK TICK guy was peddling nonsense, or might we still have a BOOM soon?
06-27-2017 , 04:15 PM
i'm not sure i fully understand the big deal behind the CNN retraction and firings

like, this is how handling fake news is supposed to work: you issue a retraction and punish those involved

that's of course not how it works in right-wing media, but no one seems to care that they report made up news constantly and no one ever gets in trouble for it
06-27-2017 , 04:26 PM
it's not even that the story was wrong as far as i understand. it was just that they published it with only a single source which went against their policy so the story could be 100% true. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I don't see how it's fake or a lie if they say they say they have one source claiming these things. They're not saying this is fact, they're saying one source said it.

But ok if cnn editorial policy is more than 1 source before you print and this editor went with it anyway i guess you gotta sack him

benjamin wittes sounds like an *******. some where some time in some way something will happen-- you heard it here first.

They shouldn't have any fake news at all that they have to handle.

Not only is there a lot of money there but the best part is it could split the right wing vote and open up a lot of opportunities for Dems to win in some heavily right wing areas.

We actually saw this in my province in Canada last year. The Conservative party ruled here for 50 years or so with hardly any challengers, a near monopoly. But then suddenly within the last 8 or 9 years they got attacked from the right by a party called the Wildrose, who gained a lot of traction and momentum, especially from the rural areas. It all culminated in an election where those two parties split the right vote and allowed the NDP, which is even more left than Trudeau's Liberals, to win a majority government. Be great to see the same thing happen in, say, Kansas or Kentucky or somewhere like that.
Be careful. Essentially the Dixiecrats did this on the left and did screw up the democrats back in the late 60s. Then the moral majority on the right mounted a state by state campaign that turned a lot of local politics right culminating in a co-opting of the republicans via the Gingrich clan and ultimately the tea party finally giving us trump.

Actually, instead of trying to create some right-wing party to split the votes... or instead of just grifting because you don't want to donate to right-wingers, the play here is to spend the money on democratic campaign ads. You'd probably get sued for it, which is why when you solicit the right wing donations you never actually say where the money is going, and you never actually advocate for right wing causes.

You say stuff like... "Our country is being taken from us by the big money donators and we've gotta take it back for the people! America isn't what it used to be, and we've gotta fix it. We're calling on all PATRIOTIC AMERICANS to step up and help us become the country God would be proud of again!!!! President Trump is being taken to court repeatedly and we need to make sure that we continue to fight for our just and righteous causes, but lawyer fees are expensive! DONATE NOW and receive your free GOD BLESS AMERICA t-shirt with all donations over $50. AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL was founded on Christian principles and we must get back to them!!!"

Then you turn around and donate all the money to left-wing causes, and when you get sued you win easily because you never advocated for anything on the right wing... The Bible says feed the hungry, care for the sick and clothe the poor, so universal healthcare is based on Christian principles. You said legal fees, you never said for Trump's side. You don't think God would be proud of turning away Muslims... etc, etc.

We should fight stupidity by taking political money from stupid people.

This wasn't fake news, though, it was just getting a story wrong. It happens.

Fox and the rest of your stories never retracted, say, Obama's $200 million a day trip to India, did it?

how about we send them pictures and letters from real lawyers, like they do with the needy african kids. like, for $50 you can officially suggest one idea to our litigation team. and they can write back saying what a great idea it was, and how it'll be in our hearts and on our minds during some upcoming supreme court case
