Not if California secedes. 39 million people, that's a country. I assume the military wouldn't bomb Los Angeles. Water would be an issue. The issue?

Hardiman is more moderate than those. Pryor probably cannot pass the Senate. If Kennedy retires I think Hardiman is the choice. That's all I'm saying.
You're analyzing this exactly wrong. If Pryor is the dumbest one he can pick, Pryor is the one he will pick.

Then he won't get confirmed in the Senate and Trump will tweet about how the democrats are blocking him.

There's enough water in California, just not SoCal. Also, I definitely want Oregon and Washington to come along.

If you could somehow steal vegas from nevada you'd have the perfect country

The options for the SCOTUS should be to hear the case now and make a final ruling or to let the lower court decisions stand until they hear the case. It seems absurd to say "let it go through to completion, and then we'll decide if it's legal." And is the "implicit conclusion" saying they will ultimately rule in favor of the admin? Well why not hear it now then? Pretty frustrating.

If California wanted to secede, who would try to stop it from leaving? Republicans HATE California.

Plus that would be a ****load of electoral votes that would be split up, mostly to red states.

Ok? I was only considering the well-being of Californians, not how much Republicans hate the place, or the ramifications for the rest of the US.

Well that's 14% of the USA's GDP leaving right there lol. Never happen, as badly as I wish it would being as I live there.

Just saw that Roberts wrote a thing specifically asking for lawyers to address whether deciding on the ban is moot because it was supposed to be temporary. It would be classic Roberts to decide the whole thing is moot and not actually rule on anything. It would also be hilarious to see Trump's reaction when he doesn't understand why his ban is not allowed to continue.

Link? And can you explain why it would not continue when they literally just allowed it? Or do you mean "not allowed to continue after the 90'days"?

Seems clear to me SCOTUS gonna let Trump do whatever he wants.

Republican voters hate stereotypical Califonians, but when it would come to the mechanics of secession, Califonians will find that Republicans really like valuable ports, farmland, military bases, national parks, etc.

But there'll be nothing stopping him from issuing another "temporary" ban afaict.

I assume if California wants to secede they better start building up a nice military.
