The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

I just finished talking to a Trump supporter who refuses to admit the bill in congress last week imposing sanctions on Russia for interfering in our elections is for interfering in our elections. He keeps insisting it's because of the Ukraine and Georgia.

Oddly enough, he said he's aware of the restrictions stopping the President from removing the sanctions, saying congress is being paranoid because Trump would never try that.

Of course, I pointed out how Trump spent the first 1 or 2 weeks in office trying hard to lift sanctions on Russia. "He was new to the job back then."

Gotta appreciate the effort...for a little while. Even full blown ******ed chimpanzees stop trying to fit square pegs into round holes after a certain amount of time.

Seems obvious that adios does not think that is the case, even though it is.

The reason this is illegal is because people feel it's completely unethical and corrupt.

"Oh yeah I'm not going to comment on the morality of first degree murder, or rape. That's a legal issue. But two wrongs don't make a right but wrongs are only things I choose to believe are wrong so obviously I need to be consulted as the 2Wrongs Csar." - ¡Goodbye!

Same reason I talk to regular people at various times of various days. 35% of them just happen to support Trump. A lower percentage actually admit it though.

OH MY, how did I forget such important details...

The guy above is from the Ukraine, thinks Putin is the biggest liar in the world, and is even pro-sanctions against Russia.

Figure all of THAT out.

Errr no dude, it's the quality of the audience that's the problem.

Also 7% on that poll is hardly shocking, I saw the headline and figured it was upwards of 50%.

damn the mainstream media for like, reporting on current events and stuff

****ing sheltered, scared idiots. always opting for the basement crafted racism and fearmongering instead

Thanks, Mitch McConnel, for stealing a SCOTUS seat that will sit in judgement of the case on stealing congressional seats like yours. Easy game.

With Russia issuing threats, im actually comforted by the fact that Trump is preoccupied with Twitter.

Yep, let's just have Trump sit this one out and leave the crisis diplomacy in the capable hands of Mad Dog. Wait, no, in the hands of the oil executive with Russian business connections. Wait, no, in the hands of a bunch of empty desks at State. Wait, no, in the hands of the generals who started this crisis in the first place. I guess the last sentence is the not-sarcastic one, but WAAF.

This probably deserves its own thread.

Debating Trump-loving family members is futile and will only lead to more anger and pain. An agreement by all parties to just not talk politics is definitely the best solution. If your Trump-loving family member cannot make or stick to this agreement, it is best to be calm, because your anger and frustration inspires them.

speaking of scary ****...

Russia has said it will treat US warplanes operating in parts of Syria where its air forces are present as "targets" amid a diplomatic row caused by the downing of a Syrian jet.

The country's defence ministry said the change in position would apply to all aircraft, including those operating as part of the US-backed coalition.

It will also suspend a hotline between Russia and the US set up to prevent mid-air collisions.

The ministry said in a statement: "All kinds of airborne vehicles, including aircraft and UAVs of the international coalition detected to the west of the Euphrates River will be tracked by the Russian SAM systems as air targets."

tbf it was a study in the early 90s. Not sure about the internet back then.

Quote:
A study assdssed the knowledge and perceptions of
U.S. citizens regarding agriculture, food, and natural resources.
Data were collected from 2,005 respondents representing the following
groups: purposely selected primarily white Indiana high school
students and primarily black Michigan high school students, randomly
selected rural Missouri adults attending one of several town
meetings, and randomly selected urban Missouri adults contacted in
various settings (including churches, libraries, and grocery stores).
Adults were more knowledgeable about agriculture than were high
school students.

Interesting. I bumped the war in Syria thread to discuss (maybe should have bumped Rojava instead?).

lol @ sampling high school students and then projecting the trend back onto the populace at large

Our entire democracy is falling apart, right now is not the time to be meek and it's not the time to "avoid politics." We got Trump by avoiding our racist friends and relatives and pretending like their toxic attitudes were okay. It's time to stand up and shun that ****, let them know that isn't acceptable and you won't support them in any way shape or form until they get their **** together.

I fully expect Trump voters to tone-police me when I start to talk about racism and other important issues in the United States today. Don't lose the game before it even begins by tone-policing yourself! That's exactly what the fascists want.
