The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

Yeah I'm thinking that one poll on direction of country has to be an outlier. No way it drops 17% in one month among Repubs imo

I fixed your possible typo.

Trump's tweets have lots of value.

1) Courts started citing them to show the unconstitutionality of his policies and practices.

2) Investigators use them as evidence of criminal intent, which translates into guilt.

3) They give us a hint of what to prepare for soon.

4) We need current Trump now to become the new Future Trump later.

5) We like to see what it is that makes everyone around Trump squirm.

6) They provide entertainment.

Was hoping for some bombs when I woke up after that AG statement.

Yeah his tweets are almost alone destroying his whole presidency.

even if trump fired Rosenstein, does he then have to appoint a new DAG to fire Mueller or does that end Mueller's investigation immediately? i assume Sessions couldn't step in to fire Mueller at that point?
06-16-2017 , 10:17 AM
If mueller gets fired what happens then? Massive leaks? Investigation still being done by some sort of shadow group?

This was a pretty good read on the topic imo

if Rosenstein goes it's down to Rachel Brand I think, she's a total Trump slappy who barely got confirmed, things won't improve by taking that road

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt

I'm frankly surprised Trump hasn't fired Mueller yet and made up some mumbo jumbo that the President has the Constitutional authority to do whatever he wants. What are the real repercussions? The answer is: political fallout. But yet again we'd inevitably just be right back to the GOP-controlled Congress needing to hold him accountable. I assume he must be calculating that his chances are way better rolling the dice with Ryan and McConnell than letting the process play out, and he has to be correct on that, right? I'm not arguing he's precisely free-rolling with this, maybe Congress finally moves. But I'm just surprised he hasn't done it yet anyway.

Not a member so couldn't read the WP story, but wouldn't the investigation just revert back to the FBI?

YouTube Trump-tards call in a dirty bomb threat in Charleston Wednesday night and accuse the Awan Brothers (good jump Gramps - see what a ****-storm conspiracy theories can start) of sending a dirty bomb to America in the Maersk Memphis cargo ship, closing down a portion of the port and having it evacuated.

Trust me, you are gonna want to watch the entire thing to witness crazy Truthers in real time and just how quickly the imagination can warp reality and cost our country millions in resources and lost production

I was kinda surprised he hadn't fired Rosenstein yet. Seems like that would be a good first step to firing Mueller. I doubt Trump can be that strategic, but Sessions and Bannon can.

By then Trump will have a new FBI Director in place.

The real answer is that if Trump fires Mueller, GOP gets max 40% in 2018, and dems spend 2019 impeaching him. Also, if Trump fires Mueller I would expect maybe 10% of GOP House mebers to basically become independent contractors and criticize Trump, etc. Basically, it would be Pandora's box. Trump and the GOP might survive, but I wouldn't bet even money.

I think that poll only uses people with landlines, so old people.

It might be 47% with them.

However, when your best poll is 47%, its not a good day.

50%'s good enough to brag about though.
