Adam Schiff is a democrat. His opinion means nothing. I'll actually believe it when somebody like Marco says that ****.

Why not fire Mueller? Trump has already been exposed to everyone except his hard core base and they aren't turning no matter what. The Republicans aren't going to do anything about it so what's the downside? Firing Comey was just as crazy as firing Mueller would be. They actually originally said it was because he handled Clinton's e-mail scandal unfairly.

lol of all the Republicans you pick...

So basically Trump will fire him tonight or tomorrow to draw attention away from Sessions.

GOP primary voters ****ing love Trump. All these GOP clowns draw their own districts and their only fear is Cantor 2.0. I sincerely believe only the military turning on Trump will get him out of office. Or death.

Firing Mueller on top of today's dog and pony cabinet meeting, and it feels like we're going to the Twilight Zone. That's right.

Republicans in Congress aren't loyal to Trump, they are loyal to themselves. As soon as it benefits them to turn on Trump they will.

POTUS could veto this right? GOP's smartest move would be to coordinate so, say, 100% of House GOP override the veto but only 18 Senate GOP. Paul Ryan throws his hand in the air in frustration and say he tried and now he's focused on healthcare.

I forget where I read/heard the analogy that observing the Trump Administration is like watching the Velociraptor test the fence, but ever since I heard it, it's the only comparison that seems appropriate.

Has McCain chimed in yet about troubled he is about this? Or is watching the D'Backs tonight?

Trump can't fire Mueller directly, he can only direct Rosenstein to do so. If Rosenstein fails to do so he can fire Rosenstein. I believe Rosenstein would refuse the order and resign. The third in command is Jeff Wall. He can either pull a Robert Bork or he can resign as well. He's a question mark. After Wall I believe next comes Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand. From what I know of her background (appointed to positions by both GWB and BHO admins), I believe she resigns as well. After her I think you start hitting career beaurocrats and civil servants all of whom almost certainly resign. So the interesting questions are what Wall does and whether Sessions makes the nuclear decision to "unrecuse." Could make the Saturday Night Massacre look like nothing in comparison.

Edit: I have solictor general and associate attorney general reversed in the line of succession here, it'll be Brand, who I really really think refuses the order, followed by Wall.

Seriously, Max Cut and David Simon are right. If he can fire Mueller, then rule of law doesn't apply to the President, and the people have no choice but to submit or fight back. Like, if that's possible, why not "postponing" elections?
06-12-2017 , 08:43 PM
lol

Meanwhile the Democratic leadership is at a Waffle House somewhere in rural Ohio trying to win over rural white Trump voters on their technocratic neoliberal agenda. Or maybe they're just watching The West Wing and weeping furiously somewhere in shame.

It's not delusional, but rather it's close to a ******ed truism, that if the GOP percieves benefit to ousting Trump, then they will oust him. Well no ****. But relying on their perception of benefit provides no comfort to people who feel Trump is a threat to the Republic. The GOP can easily miscalculate, and wait until it's too late. And many will be content to watch Trump erode the norms in such a way that tightens their grip on power. If for instance Trump bucks the courts on the Muslim ban, who in the GOP will percieve benefit in standing up to him against the will of nearly every person who voted for them? Ecriture is on the side of the GOP will come around if it gets too bad, but he's wrong. Count me on Team Brick.

Everything they do is a calculated risk to gain more votes than they lose. That's why they preach things like "family values" while robbing the poor.

These guys will jump off the Trump bandwagon as fast as they jump on once they figure he's costing them more votes than gaining.
