Newt Gingrich has also been running around crying that the special counsel / Muller needs to be abolished because it was triggered immorally through a scheme to 'get' the President. (Paraphrased but LOL & scary anyway)
The idea of a special counsel having its work ignored because people were tricked into starting it is pretty funny.

Pretty sure the constitutions nor the law cover that so I guess those jokers are SOL.

Not celebrating the red state deaths, but Trumpcare may be what makes single payer happen in California and then other blue states will follow.

I am not familiar with a previous president's personal attorney (not hired on to staff) playing such a large role in the past. The White House has an entire in house legal staff.

This is a minor tidbit but it needs to be called Trumpcare as well. Not AHCA, not the house plan, the senate plan, TRUMPCARE.

Over and over and over.

Three soldiers killed over the weekend in Afghanistan. I don't anticipate Trump even giving it the slightest mention.

And the story from iirc early last week which got buried is that Russher is the main arms supplier of the Taliban. Why can't we be friends with Russher?

It's also been pointed out that White House staffers could end up being witnesses in this case, so it's probably not a great idea for the President's personal attorney to be mingling amongst them.

Man I missed all the Julius Caesar drama apparently. What a bunch of snowflakes. Shame on BoA and Delta for withdrawing funding for the ****ing Public Theater.

Right. That's the kind of thing that makes people hate politics and just tune out from both parties altogether.

I work for one of those companies. We received an email just a moment ago on how to respond to any customer or non customer asking about the Julius Caesar depiction in the play.

why would anybody expect him to? he doesn't respect military sacrifice, he only uses and exploits it when it's politically expedient for him to do so

A couple of years late, but the first time I've seen this. Big if true:

In other news, I listened to Kirsten Gillibrand's interview on David Axelrod's podcast this weekend. I think either she or Amy Klobuchar will be on the D ticket in 2020.

He hasn't even spoken to the commanders in Iraq or Afghanistan since being sworn in, how many ****s can he possibly give over a few soldiers dying in those places?

Cuomo is going to try to stab her in the back and take her down with him--it will be interesting to watch that play out.

Once they get even the faintest whiff Trump won't be completely exonerated, it was a fait accompli -- absolutely 100% lock -- they would start whining about fairness, about Mueller, about Comey collusion, about whatever they can talk about to keep the deplorables paranoid, angry, clicking, tuning in, and voting.

If you were waiting for this moment to be the one where they rolled over and gave in and found some ultimate arbiter to decide whether they get to keep power or whatever -- come now.

Their best strategy from here is to keep their base rabid, angry, pretending they are aggrieved victims of the Deep State and The Swamp and a hopelessly partisan justice system that ignores Hillary's crimes and abuses poor Donald Trump. That's the only hope to keep GOP spirits up and keep the GOP Congress in line here.

It's obviously a cynical and ludicrous strategy, but what other options do they have? This strategy gives them two ways to win:

- Mueller doesn't discover much or conclude much: SEE, even hyper partisan liberal Robert Mueller couldn't nail Trump, LOL nothingburger
or
- Hyper partisan Mueller witch-hunted poor Donald Trump, the deep state is alive and well, like and share!

It was never going to be any other way. They were never going to be like "let Mueller do his job undisturbed and if he discovers Trump is a lying criminal, welp, gg, we'll just fold up shop as a party now, sorry for the trouble."
It's beyond problematic because if they can do this for Trumpcare and the Paris Climate Accord pullout and obstruction of justice offenses with so much evidence, they can do it for anything. WE ARE LOSING THE BATTLE FOR TRUTH! Damn right I'm scared.

Just look at what Trump and his lawyer did on Thursday night. They took what was objectively the worst day of Trump's political life and handed out cigars to celebrate vindication, even though Comey said 3 times that Mueller's job now includes looking into the POTUS for obstruction, etc. But he wasn't under investigation at the time he asked Comey, so...victory? Then they went on to lie and contradict each other on everything else.

Basically, they threw a public celebration because Trump told the truth ONCE, and his base ate it up!

I keep seeing this name as a possibility. Don't know much about her. Is she good?

In a quick search, I see some pretty awful votes (e.g. Pompeo for CIA director, 2007 FISA amendment).

I don't actually know that much about her voting record, so my opinion may be pretty premature. Just listened to her talk over the course of an hour with Axelrod and was pretty impressed. That doesn't always happen on Axelrod's podcast. Greatest example of terrible person coming off terribly was Grover Norquist, who seems stunningly stupid for someone with such influence.
