The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

All those lazy news reports about a wave of ethno-nationalist parties taking over Europe have not aged well.

hopefully the same thing happens in the US - the bigots who were excited to vote for trump get disillusioned and refuse to come out in 2018 or 2020

This is the effect of Trump spewing ignorance and bs lies. The ignorance catches on.

Fortunately, Trump has been relatively silenced lately. 10-1 he tilt-fires his attorney after he loses ratings due to not being able to adequately defend himself.

That said, he is supposed to be taking reporter questions at a press conference in a few minutes... (popcorn...nom nom)

Tricky timeline casts doubt
on Comey's memo claim

>JUDGE JEANINE: Comey is a 'predator' who sought 'revenge' on Trump

>'Comey is a leaker!' Trump breaks his silence on ex-FBI boss' testimony

>SEAN HANNITY: Comey reveals himself to be a Deep State political hack

>MEDIA BUZZ: Comey questions Trump's conduct, offers few new details

>Bossie: Comey's 'political' leaks 'possibly illegal, definitely unethical'

>Ex-Justice Dept. official on Comey Leak: 'Standard operating procedure'

>Trump's lawyer to file complaint over leaks

Today I wrote a four page 1.5 space opinion for a client on a copyright matter that cited 2 laws, a treatise (in two places), and 3 court cases. It took me 2 hours to research and write (granted, I cribbed the cases from the treatise). The client wrote back, "Thank you [name]. This is excellent."

It took Trump's lawyer five hours from the start of the hearing to release a statement that was poorly written, had numerous typographical errors, and mischaracterized the facts and law and made claims to "privilege" that were borderline sanctionable. I have been saying for a year that his high price "pitbull" NY litigator attorney is a hack. Sometimes people get the help they deserve.

And his big firm corporate lawyers are going to get him impeached with their fake blind trust.

I would think loooong and hard about filing any case against Comey, even a very solid case. Many ways that could lead to blowback, and Trump's name is not exactly gold among the judiciary. These guys have one gear: stupid.

The Toronto Star is pretty bad, Globe and Mail much better. National Post I haven't read in a while, but is obviously the best when it comes to financial stuff- unsure about their political stuff now- was good before. Sun is total trash

I think we inoculated them to some degree.

Trump is courting the religious right like the fat girl after last call.

I mean they're going to turn on the lights on and she'll have a big ass grin and be pissing on him like he was just bitten by a rattlesnake.

Also, Trump and his team know how bad it is out there. As Rick Wilson noted, he only goes to select exburs. He can't really travel to swing states or where people are concentrated.

These tweets are from a Harvard law prof and former Scalia clerk.

Once again, ZERO mention of how Trump's conduct caused any of this. We'll done Fox!

Definitely nothing more important to work on.

Tillerson calling on Arab nations to stop blockading Qatar.

Trump has tweeted in full support of it.

Well oiled machine!

There is no very solid case here. The memo leak isn't illegal. If anything, it was an ethical breach, but that's like 50/50 I think (IANAL like others here). Comey has a few things going for him. He gave the memos to his buddy as a private citizen, passed on "privileged" and not classified info, and there was no executive privilege because Trump had already publicized whatever Comey gave out.

Add to that whatever we discussed earlier about the "trap" of confirming the details and contradicting Trump's denials of obstruction - - and filing a case would be more than just a little blowback. It could get him impeached lol.
06-09-2017 , 02:47 PM
Well he said very deliberately "ease the blockade" rather than "stop" it, but yeah pretty mixed message. Ldo because the Saudis had Trump's ear, the Qataris did not, and Trump probably didn't know about our interests there or those of our allies.

It's just more of that precious naivete quality Trump possesses.

Judging by his personal & legal replies so far, and the situation Trump is currently in, I'd say he's pretty ****ed right now.

Does Trump think terrorists come from Romania? Or that it's a muslim country?

Not saying this isn't true, but isn't this a continuation of the campaign? He tried Chicago and that failed so he stuck to off the beaten path red areas, that + inevitable lack of campaign enthusiasm = small dead end areas.
