The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

so if sessions resigns, trump can nominate a stooge that isn't recused from russia stuff and republicans in congress can sweep this whole mess under the rug?
06-06-2017 , 06:39 PM
are these more of those "patriotic" russians that VVP was talking about? Seems like this one will be easy enough for the trumptards to dismiss:

-CNN, which apparently now is ISIS as well as fake news
-scary "russians"
-muslim nation the victim, even though the US/Qatar relationship is complex and Qatar is obviously not a model ally, just currently opposed to another complex "ally" and ally of Trump, KSA

It's fake news. Trump knows reality shows and media manipulation.

Think of it this way, Jeff Sessions can **** over every minority, you think he's gonna just give that up?

Remember when the news media reported Bannon was on the way out? That was the most fake news ever. The shake up news have always been fake but one (mcfarland, who still isn't in singapore)

I think you gusy are falling for it again, getting your hopes up where it's not warranted. THIS TIME WILL BE THE SMOKING GUN THAT'LL GET RID OF THESE BAD PEOPLE.

We already have the smoking gun and nobody gave a ****.

I mean even if comey says trump obstructed does anything get done? I sure as hell don't know.

CNN reporting Russian hackers were behind a Qatar hack, having them say pro iran **** fake news at least helping lead to this current mess in the middle east.

This has gotten weird already.

After a few months during which it apparently was unclear whether she was still employed, the head of the Patent office has resigned.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ptly-resigned/

"Lee was nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed to the role in March 2015. <snip>

Although Lee served through the end of Obama's tenure, her status came into question after President Trump was sworn in. For weeks, the patent office declined to say whether Lee was still its director, despite the fact that she had appeared to bid staff goodbye at an event in January.

Current and former staffers at the agency told The Post then that Lee was continuing to perform some of her office's functions, even though a website for the Commerce Department listed the director's position as unfilled.

It was not until early March that the patent office clarified that Lee was indeed continuing as director, sending a letter to University of Missouri law professor Dennis Crouch to confirm her role.

Now, Lee's sudden departure adds to the list of vacancies that Trump will be expected to fill, leaving businesses and inventors wondering what — and who — will come next."

I agree. I don't pay any credence to any of the STAFF SHAKE UP PENDING and am convinced literally all of the leaks related to staff shake ups come straight from Trump. It's just his reality show distraction tactic.

Did Qatar not pay the Shia group the $1B ransom?

Russia plants a story to discredit a US ally, pouring gasoline on the ME. Trump lights a match. Is that about it? Man, that is some good puppetry I have to say.

We have had dozens of these stories. Gorka, Priebus, Bannon, etc all supposed to be gone by now. Assume every single one of them is bull**** until someone actually resigns.

Its completely believable that Trump and Sessions have a really tense relationship and Sessions threatened to resign but he still stays on.
06-06-2017 , 07:14 PM
Obviously any story of anyone trying to get as far away from Trump as possible is eminently believable but the pattern is pretty clear that the signal/noise about possible Trump staff shakeups to actual Trump staff shakeups is very low and that besides Flynn and that one Communications Director guy who was basically out of the spotlight, none of the rumored staff shakeups come to fruition. And the precise model Trump is probably deploying to woo the press and get stories crafted in the ways he likes -- that is, drawing attention to himself and aggrandizing his power as a decider chief executive who needs to be constantly courted by his underlings and demands the audience's attention as to who currently has his favor and who is on the outs is based off of his very popular reality television show.

I tend to believe both sides here. Agree with wookie too many false flags thus far as far as resignations. But i can also see why this situation is real. All of trumps russia troubles he blames on sessions, so him having ill l towards him just makes sense to me. I dont think hes long for his post personally

My sources tell me SUPREME COURT has sent local police to serve subpoenas to Jeff Sessions at his summer cabin for Russian ties. Arrest imminent.

I mean for all we know, it's entirely believable Trump is a narcissist and tendering resignations for failures is part of some ritualistic humiliation scheme Trump insists on; e.g., the story is 'real' in that with every mistake or **** up or whatever, Trump casually, implicitly, or explicitly expects his staff to offer to resign as penance and Trump lets them stay on due to his magnanimity and grace. So these stories are basically capturing a form of reality, that Trump is surrounded by grovelling boot lickers where Trump ****s up then expects his staff to offer to resign and come beg for their jobs as compensation.

Who knows. The point is I remain confident these stories are bull**** given the volume of staff shake-up stories to actual staff resignations is very low.
06-06-2017 , 07:21 PM
You all realize that Trump did not write or run the Apprentice, right? And that by writer accounts sabotaged their plans for the show by making decisions on a whim, based on who he personally liked or what he thought of people's physical appearances. Even the "he's a reality television master" meme is just more 4-D chess garbage.

Speak for someone else. I didn't buy it either (yet). Look, 200 posts ago:

However, if Sessions DOES go...what a celebration I will have. Oh man.

We might have to actually root for this to be true. Not because it's wishful thinking or anything, but because the mere fact that this story exists (real or fake) is an indication that Sessions isn't as guilty as we first thought. He may just be a mostly honest racist *******.

One problem with my post way above: Spicey didn't say they had 100% confidence today.

If Sessions were to resign and become just another guy he'd have nothing but the fifth Amendment to protect him from Mueller?

This is actually a good point. Palin was the only one who EVER got that treatment and failed miserably. Perhaps we can compromise between your desire to bring back polls tests, one of the debates should be literally each candidate taking like a 10th-11th grade civics test.

In which case, who gives a **** whether it's true? It is still meaningless.

I made this point before but like the former master practitioner of this very question was Tim Russert. Before he died, I lampooned the guy because I thought it was basically a churlish move for a debate host or interviewer to quiz candidates on trivia and facts.

2016 presented a lot of opportunity to learn lessons, and I forgive Russert now. I didn't appreciate that underlying the whole "and do you know the capital of Canada?" and "can you tell me the current chairman of the General Secretary of the Communist Party in China?" questions were actually a rather decent form of bull**** control rather than Russert trying to lord over candidates with trivia. Trump is the perfect example of how a constant stream of "tell us your plans" and "what's your position on..." can become almost farcical and pointless if the candidate is shameless enough.
