He does have a right to fire him. But he didn't say that act couldn't be a factor in an obstruction case. But I really think obstruction of justice is probably the least of Trump's worries. Comey obviously wasn't that interested in obstruction either.

I suspect there's a bigger thing in the works. Something that Trump was really paranoid about and that's why he kept asking Comey if he was under investigation. Something that made him panic into firing Comey when it became clear that he wasn't going to drop it. That's the part that we'll find out about at some point. But i agree, its not likely to happen Thursday.
