The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

I'm confused. Isn't the VA secretary going to tell us how great Trump is?

Not nearly as much as they should be. Some senators will be troubled and/or deeply concerned, but that's as far as it goes nowadays.

Removing regulations en masse plus privatizing essential safety industries is a recipe for disaster.

I don't think he follows through. Not because he doesn't want to do it but because he doesn't understand the process by which this is done. He'll see a shiny object and completely forget about privatizing ATC.

I don't understand much of this VA talk (plus this Shulkin guy is boring) but I will say that it's really hard to trust any actions these guys take anymore. Their credibility is so bad that I feel like we're getting ****ed around every corner.

Also, has Trump been taking on some really big money projects lately, or is it just me? VA, private infrastructure, climate change & big oil w/Saudis and Ruskies, health care, military spending, WTF is going on behind closed doors?? We're getting gutted, aren't we?

Ugh, this "The american people elected a builder" is such ****ing bull****.

Can't speak for Americans, but we're just not that bothered over here. On Saturday night it was notable that people tended to ignore police advice and walked *towards* the action to help the injured or throw things at the killers.

Shulkin didn't spend any time on the greatness that is Trump, so his credibility is relatively high in my view. Huckabee followed with the Trump tribute though.

"The president clearly lied about the mayor of London, your response?"

"I dont think thats actually true, the media wants to spin it that way."

Don't believe the BS. This is comically impossible. Anything short of a nuclear-scale event and Trump's (domestic) power is fairly limited and decreasing daily. That's why he is doing photo ops instead of signing actual laws.

The president's domestic job is mainly to oversee and implement the enforcement of laws, as passed by Congress and interpreted by the courts. He cannot subvert laws in any real sense. Even his travel ban, where presidential power is at a near maximum, is a complete failure unless and until the Supreme Court gives him some limited symbolic victory. The US has some significant divides, and Trump represents a group of people, but not the majority and not the powerful. Many who voted for him just wanted to take a chance and that chance has been a failure.

does Sarah Huckabee Sanders know the Redskins are looking for offensive linemen (you know, in case trump and his surrogates get run out of the white house)?

True, but everyone here knows what a PoS your president is and they won't hold it against all Americans, just him and the deplorables who voted for him.

What?

Takes guts to run towards an active terror event. Shows how hardened some Londoners are.

this is the last thing the authorities, first responders, and police want anyone to do. "stupidity" is the word you should be reaching for. not balls.

Privatizing air control has worked very well in Canada and this may actually be good thing if implemented correctly. Canada's air traffic control is non profit, where Britain's is for profit. The push previously in the US was to use Canada's model as a guideline.

I think this might actually be one of the few (only?)good things Trump does in office if they do it correctly

How would this work? Its not like there are private air traffic control companies hanging around hoping to land a government contract. And wouldn't a private company have liability concerns that government air traffic control would not have?
