I obv agree we really need to stop ****ing up the planet, but we needed to start that awhile ago. Trump's problem on this is simply he might be the end of the last chance at mitigating the carnage and lol us.

To truly be fair to trump, 70% of Americans supported staying in the Accord, yet he left because 1) this involves government activity so he can pander to his base by pretending it was a job killer 2) it pisses off liberals 3) it distracts slightly from Russia

The binding of binding agreements doesn't always mean much to powerful countries anyway. We routinely ignore international courts and have veto power in many international organisations.

Paris was more necessary than awesome.

Big parts of the US are going to continue with the climate goals set in Paris at least. (30 mayors and 3 governors so far.

I strongly disagree it wasn't awesome. It was awesome. That is not to say it was the final goal or the end of global agreement or deals on climate change.

It's role was two things; first get everyone to agree climate change is real and second that something has to be done about it.

This was awesome in every sense of the word!

It was a step in the direction of the goal and arguably the most difficult one to take.

That's a good argument for why it isn't optimal, but there are currently no better alternatives. Need to start spending more money on education and less of defense.

The single most important issue facing the US is education, the lack of it has resulted in this administration.

George Bush knew it and spent fortunes of education, Obama knew it even more and increased the funding massively again. Trump and Devos will probably cut it.

For him it probably is. That's the sad! part.

I don't think even the most conservative court can rule in his favor on executive privilege wrt Comey though. You don't get to go on TV and give your side of the conversation and then claim EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE YOU NO TALK! when the other guy wants to give his side, that's not how the privilege works.

Russia is still a freaking mysterious bastard. Never even a verbal attack, and they continue to taunt us militarily, politically and psychologically on a regular basis, while Trump takes pro-Russia actions over and over for nothing in return, except for Trump personally. And we WILL figure out exactly what those benefits are.

As for the others, let's keep in mind that Trump gunned hard for both China and SA during the campaign and for a lot of his private life. Then he has the "most productive meetings of his presidency with each of their leaders recently, yet was barely able to cite benefits to the US. It looks like he and Ivanka got a good amount out of the meetings though. Either way, Trump did full 180s on both countries right after each meeting.

BIGGEST LOSERS
1. Earth
2. America
3. Europe, particularly Germany and France.

Aside from the planet, which comes and goes from speeches depending on Trump's whims and opportunities, #2 is (accidentally?) the steady loser. #3 is a spite loser.

I hope some important people in the right places are keeping accurate track of all this mess. We can't count on GOP to get it right, or admit any of the events even occurred. They keep tripping over their own memories for some random reason.

Someone questioned loser #3, but you get the idea. That's how things look based on the evidence so far.

Oh wow. I thought it was 51/49 for Republicans looking to stay in the Paris accord, but it was only 51/26! The rest abstained.

For Dems, it was 86% stay. Low IMO.
