Grunching 150 posts or so (busy thread day)...

People mentioned this throughout the campaign, but the example the POTUS sets for the world has been grossly underestimated.

Trump's willingness to cross so many lines is causing havoc everywhere. People are emboldened. Companies are emboldened. Republicans are emboldened. Countries are emboldened. It intuitively feels like there's a strong correlation between acceleration of Trump's abnormalities and the acceleration of everyone else's.

Watched the sheriff press conference. Basically said nothing of value. Main thing was to ask people to stop calling because it was clogging up dispatch.

At the top of the press conference the Gallatin Sheriff opens with "Please stop calling the police department about this." That cracked me up. Apparently, they're getting flooded by calls both local and out of state.

Only worthwhile thing about the press conference was verification that they're interviewing the victim and witnesses and treating it like a normal investigation (good luck with that).
