I guess the only question left unanswered at this point is will they use the military to kill protesters like the Chinese did in Tiananmen square?

Hope to see y'all there.

From a 1990 Playboy interview:

Quote:
You mean firm hand as in China?

When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak ... as being spit on by the rest of the world—
He mentioned that the Soviet Union fell because Gorbachev was too weak in dealing with the protests, et. al.

Things will get a lot worse before they get better.

Im not too sure. Most people have mild fascist tendencies. The reason that those views dont get articulated in a political option its because the big business need to keep a liberal facade so they cant finance an explicit candidate. They just push narratives in the civil society insitutions that lead the public to mild fascism ( because otherwise they might become communists or something) but they never embrace it directly. Trump saw all of that and took advantage of it. This is Grasmci 101. ( And Gramsci main works are from the Mussolini era, he knows a thing or two about fascism).

Any one remember that film High Plains Drifter. The scene where the town almost literally descends into hell reminds me of this.

Unfortunately, given all they have accepted I believe his supporters will be OK with some protestor blood being spilled. Hope I'm wrong.

Today seemed like a good day to rewatch v for vendetta.

Well that's as ridiculous as it was expected.

This is big and Trump is screwed.

Enter Boente. Might want to stop calling scoreboard in a game in which your team hasn't scored a point.

I think you're incredibly optimistic. It's like a solid 30-35% of the country that WANTS protester blood. There's a reason why GOP state legislatures are doing bizarre **** like trying to create civil immunity for people who run over protesters blocking a highway.

The crux of the fascist narrative is that some elite liberals are too concerned about stuff like human rights endagering decent people in the process.
You are not wrong.

If it comes to that, I theoretically speaking will be there with a gun.

Fascism is also a scary word just like socialism. That's why so many people hate Bernie Sanders. They just dismiss anything he says without listening because they deem him a socialist.

It's not a game.

We should have never let The Patriot Act get by. It should have led to massive protests. No Democrat should have gotten away with voting for it. There's more and more government power and now look who yields it. If we ever get the chance again all of that needs to be beaten back relentlessly w/o compromise.

Yes, it's almost like simplicitus et. al are waking from a 18 month slumber and wondering why Trump isn't losing traction, and the GOP rank and file aren't calling for his head.

Couple things:
1. I prefer people that weren't captured.
2. They're rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.

This is America. Don't let a few thousand young coastal elites get your eye off the ball. Pretty much every Trump voter and lots of non-voters do not give one **** about middle-eastern people detained for no/scant reason.

What happened to ACA repeal and replace? I feel like they gave up on that.

35% of Americans and 43% of those under 30 have a favorable opinion of socialism.

I guess it's possible that 35% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Fascism. No one seems to have polled it.

They'll most likely remove the penalty and provide some incentive for more carriers to join the program in more states creating competition. that should be enough to fix many problems.

Congress is handling that because they're not working on imprachment. They're not actively voting this week because they don't know what they want to vote on.

GOP members will call for heads if their own heads are at risk. The protests aren't just happening in blue states. If enough pressure mounts McCain won't be the only one who is pissed.
