SCOTUS decision making is politicized, but less so than most assume.
Well the whole point of SCOTUS was to be apolitical and unbiased. Relative to the other two branches, it is far less politicized and we should be grateful for that. Once FDR tried to angle the judicial system through court packing, that loophole was closed off.

Don't worry folks, nothing bad is happening. The government is running like a well oiled machine, says Fox.

From what I saw, that was a pretty weak walk-out imo.

If a person is very intelligent, prides himself on not being biased, but is in fact biased, he will tend need a decision to be closer before he will go against the better argument, than an average biased person.

Yeah posted exactly that in the thread dedicated to it.

Somebody brought up giant balloons exploding but that seems far-fetched. But I guess it could be anything.

I'm sure there was a large percentage that wanted to walk out but didn't walk out b/c they didn't want to upset their family or friends that came to the graduation. I know if I were 21, and my parents had dropped $250K for my college education, I'd be sitting in my seat even if Hitler was giving the speech.

2. The truth will increase the chances of an incorrect guilty verdict. ("Yes it was me who had been secretly sending Mary love letters but I didn't kill her")

Plus of course a lot of lawyers will recommend invoking the fifth simply because they see no upside to testifying even if there isn't an obvious downside. Theoretically that invocation is not supposed to influence a verdict. I'm guessing it probably does (as it actually should, mathematically speaking) but probably only slightly.
3 is that people can get pressured or led into saying things that look bad even if they're innocent. Anyone who's worked with witnesses in any capacity has seen the happen. People get flustered, and while the respondent has likely only done this once or never before, the inquisitor is a professional.

Think Trump gives out one civil, human tweet then follows it up with a tweetstorm of anti-Islam rhetoric and another go at a Muslim ban.

The White House did not respond to requests for comment about how Trump would pay for his outside legal team, the cost of which cannot be covered by the federal government. But campaign finance lawyers said Trump could probably draw funds from his reelection committee to cover legal expenses related to the Russia inquiries, including money donated this year.

Yeah but they'll be happy doing it so long as daddy stays in office.

And false equivalency? Who the **** do you think first pushed for the 3 strikes law Trump for brains? You think HRC gives a **** about people in jail? To the extent that it helps her politically, she got on board with paying lip service to criminal justice reform.

Don't blame me for Sessions. Even now that she's gone and irrelevant, lemmings like you intolerant to any other held position, are STILL propping up a lying, cutthroat, run of the mill politician, instead of pushing for true progressive values. That's what got Trump elected and Sessions in.
You're talking about the superpredator thing, right?
