It's counterproductive.
I'll take some responsibility for that, sometimes I can't help but act like a cat playing with it's dinner. Snap bans often result in other plebs coming out of the woodwork to defend the banned poster, which is also annoying. Wookie's way (at least today) of giving posters the opportunity to prove their claims or eat a ban is cool imo. No one can say that the poster in question wasn't given all the chances in the world to come correct, or to admit wrongdoing.
Also, it takes away claims that Wookie doesn't give people the opportunity to explain themselves before passing judgment. Now Trolley might say 'wgaf about trolls', but snap banning them is too easy, I'd rather some bright light shown on their claims and reasoning. Why? To make an example to others who would think they can spew nonsense here and then cheerfully eat a ban as an escape, an out, an excuse, from having to explain themselves.
