The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

The Flynn thing is so weird. Reading about him he seems like a guy who genuinely believes that the US is fighting terrorism the wrong way. He's infected with right-wing derp, but people who worked with him think he's a genuine patriot, just misguided. So one way to read his actions is that he wanted to circumvent the intelligence community because they were trying to hold him back, and he went way too far.

The problem with that is that he took money from Turkey. That only makes sense as pure greed. If he wanted to work with Turkey for some legitimate reason, then he could have done it for free.

It's so weird. He could have followed his ideological goals and just waited to get into office under Trump. Or he could have forgotten his goals (and Trump) and gotten paid. Instead he tried to do both?

The new FBI frontrunner? Former D senator from Connecticut and 2000 VP candidate JOSEPH ISADORE LIEBERMAN.

Senior administration officials have told others in the last 12 hours that Trump is expected to pick Lieberman to replace FBI director James Comey, who was abruptly fired by Trump last week.
Wat.

He now works at the same law firm with Marc Kasowitz, Trump's longtime lawyer in New York

lots of environment stuff:
-executive order that allows mining companies to dump into rivers and streams
-executive order that removes requirements that companies monitor pollution level in certain water areas.
-rolled back the rule that required financial advisers to put their clients interest first

Yeah, I guess it was. I thought it was for specific crimes, but it was for any crimes he might have committed according to Wiki. I guess you can do that.

Trump draining the swamp by using swamp retreads. Classic.

don't see Lieberman being confirmed by the Senate. the administration is going to have to put someone else forward if they start out with Lieberman.

US just launched an airstrike against pro-Assad forces in Syria, according to CNN.

Here we go?

Does Lieberman have any real investigative FBI-like experience? He's a career politician.

Isn't this just the Oliver North redux? Oliver North breaks laws, ostensibly works with forces antagonistic to American values, friends and well-wishers apologize for his behavior and declare him well-meaning super patriot.

One thing we should know by now is qualifications aren't needed in the Trump years.

He's also the reason we don't have a public option in healthcare.

Pretty sure most senators get off on confirming other senators

Right before a trip to the Middle East too. Classic timing by Trump. Not surprised.

Chris Cornell/Roger Aisles is like the universe trying to find equilibrium. That said, I hope they find a mixture of crack and oxycotin in the bag Ailes was strangling himself with when he died jacking to nude pictures of the first lady.

I think it's more likely that Lieberman wants to destroy and dismantle the FBI, as Trump's other appointees want to do with their departments.

I am pleased to report that Operation Distractify Phase II was a rousing success. It will be hours before their bases are operational again.

He's already been RICO'd once. Settled for $25m.

If the Times Square driver was a terrorist and killed a dozen people - how different is this country right now?

Anyone who thinks a neutered Trump is the best option is crazy. He can always come roaring back to life. Pence will just attack some middle-east country. Trump will do that and destroy the pillars of our democracy at the same time.
