No news? I'm going back to sleep for another hour.

I mean there is precedent for the "targeted killing" of American citizens without due process (see al-Awlaki, Anwar). So it would be legally defensible. It is beyond the pale in some ways but since when has that stopped Trump from doing anything?
If trump had comey assasinated think how troubled mccain would be. He might even become perturbed or possibly even vexed.

I feel we need to give Trump supporters an out so they can abandon ship while saving face. But is that even possible?

Hahaha no need to worry about that. Trump will vanish down the memory hole in 10 seconds flat.

They get 1 or 2 chances every day and don't bite. Keep in mind that many of them are still waiting for the one good reason to accept evolution.

I see two outcomes but neither is quite the memory hole:

1. The more self-aware, less nutty ones won't flush him, they'll blame him on liberals. Call it the Ikes Gambit where during the primaries and despite all evidence to the contrary, ikes would just insist No Actual Republican liked Trump. Ted Cruz rightfully won the hearts and minds of the GOP and 95% of the votes, Trump had basically ~0% in the primaries but through some liberal trick and non-partisan populist anger Trump won.
2. a casual reading of deplorable literature suggests a grand dolchstoblegende theory is building, with a combination of the Deep State and Ivanka/Kushner/Mnuchin and other Jews in the role of the November Criminals who are leaking and sinking Trump. They will hold up Trump as a failed hero who tried to stop the great Muslim refugee and Mexican menace but was sunk by the globalists.

In sum: the whole thing will be a frothy mix of blaming liberals and undesirables for both his rise AND his fall. Any embarrassment a globalist hoax and conspiracy to undermine him. Any rank stupidity of unknown origin and the vestiges of his liberal NYC background. All of his popular unfulfilled promises the future we all deserve were it not for sneaky liberals, Jews and globalists.

By all right this shouldn't be possible but it's basically the story they tell themselves now.

It's no mystery. Flynn is the link to the money.

More than fifty thousand mental-health professionals have signed a petition stating that Trump is “too seriously mentally ill to perform the duties of president and should be removed” under the Twenty-fifth Amendment.

To be fair, it looks like anyone can sign that - no matter that you work in that field or not.

Nevertheless, I hope Trump reads that somehow. We are due a Tweet-storm very soon I'd think.

50 thousand is a lot. Too bad he's mentally competent enough to be a huge ******* his whole life.

For those interested in the ongoing saga of insanity/state propaganda that is Fox News, this thread is quite fascinating:

CNN dropping the ball here. It's bad enough that the administration is trying to turn Comey into Hitler, 1. 2, they want us to ignore everything else. And 3, there is much more to come obviously. Give it another day or two.
05-17-2017 , 07:41 AM
I have criticized Comey harshly in the past, but LOL at anybody believing Trump over him.
05-17-2017 , 07:43 AM
That change.org petition is complete garbage. There are no requirements to sign it whatsoever, which makes it just a 'I hate the moron president' petition, which makes it worthless. This is unsurprising, as actual mental health professionals (who aren't charlatans desperate for media attention) don't ****ing diagnose people they've never met with mental illnesses.

"Will Donald Trump be president at year-end 2017?" has been slowly dropping on Predictit:

I'm surprised that a case of "impending danger" can never be made against a president no matter what. Like, assume Trump keeps stepping up his threats (that email calling supporters to fight in the trenches is a good start) to the point that he's undoubtedly 10x more dangerous than Russia or North Korea...do we have to wait for him to actually blow up the planet before taking action?

We need much less evidence to start WW3 than we do to prevent it.

One thing I've said before is that it's going to be super easy to ret-con Trump as a big New York liberal elite who pals around with the Clintons and dumps his trophy wife every few years. He certainly wasn't a True God-Fearing Christian Republican like Ted Cruz or Sheriff Clarke. You can even pull out old quotes of Trump bashing Reagan or praising universal healthcare.

Maybe the more introspective ones will admit that they voted for Trump bc they just got fooled by his big-city patter. They'll be like, well he seemed trustworthy, but I guess he was lying about all that MAGA stuff --who could have known at the time?

There's technically another way to remove the President from office, but it'll never happen. Unfortunately this is exactly the kind of safeguard that only works if the President appoints neutral/patriotic/competent people to his Cabinet, and usually if you need to trigger the amendment that isn't the case.

A loophole in the 25th Amendment lets 14 people remove a sitting president from office

They'll just compare it to the hypothetical Hillary Presidency where she sells us out to Russia, gives our intel and secrets away to hostile foreign powers, and uses the Presidency to constantly enrich her and her family rather than actually working for the people. Obviously, Trump is better than that!

Still an overreaction. So long as he's in the ~85%+ or more of GOP support in popular opinion polls then most of the GOP Congress won't find the courage to do anything.

We now go live to GOP HQ for a comment on the recent spate of political assassinations.

LMAO @ CNN on TV talking about Congress calling on Putin as a witness because he and Russia are saying they will provide a transcript of the Trump-Lavrov conversation to prove no classified information was leaked. Geez. It wasn't even said in jest. Have they gone mad?

EDIT: A RECORDED transcript is what Putin is offering. In other words, yes they are claiming to have recorded the Oval Office while there. Thanks Trump!

They're still waiting to find out if their beefed up voter suppression efforts (led by Jeff Sessions) will be enough to keep winning in 2018 despite being more unpopular than typhoid fever.
