The best wacky theory I have heard is that the Mossad is going to whack him during his foreign trip for burning their spy in ISIS.

maybe you guys didn't learn during the election when the corporate media told you hillary wins 99% of the time, they don't have your interests in mind. How come when bush and obama were busy war mongering and violating our constitution their were ignoring this and singing their praises yet Trump can't eat an extra scoop of ice cream without being judged. You guys are so thick to still trust these ******* talking heads on cnn and msnbc and fox

I think it's way too early to make any kind of predictions. Typically the political landscape during the actual election year is what counts. We don't know what the unemployment rate or the market will be, what kind of national emergencies or disasters will happen, how Pence might be received if he assumes the Presidency, or the quality of candidate the Dems come up with. This far out it would be just as well to try and guess whether the Chicago Bears will be a playoff team in in 2020.

The midterms next year are still a ways out too at this point. But even with a bump Dems are fighting a very uphill battle to even hope for 50% of of the House and the Senate looks worse.

Right now I'm not convinced that a failed Trump presidency assures the Dems of anything in 2020. They'll still need to sell themselves to voters well enough to overcome the inevitable misinformation and other hurdles in front of them first, else they could easily be knocked off by some other GOP clown, who's likely to have a much better-financed campaign and able to speak coherently.

Of all teams you pick the Bears? They're going to suck forever.

The White House denied the Times report, telling the paper in a statement that “the president has never asked Mr. Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General Flynn. … The president has the utmost respect for our law-enforcement agencies, and all investigations. This is not a truthful or accurate portrayal of the conversation between the president and Mr. Comey.”
How can anyone from the WH even say this **** with a straight face?

Trump has to have a tell during his TV interviews. There must be some uncontrollable tick or movement he makes whenever he tells the truth.

It's not a mystery. It's the answer shining in neon blinking lights. Trump never bats an eye when it comes to demeaning and tearing down anyone who gets in his way or crosses him. Not high ranking republicans. Not high ranking democrats. Not a sitting president. Not a war hero. Not a gold star family. Not a disabled reporter. Not the CIA. Not the DOJ. And not the head of the FBI. But who's the ONE group he's never uttered a single bad word about? Wait for it.... Why, it's RUSSIA! Putin. Flynn. Manafort, et.al and anyone having anything to do with Russia.

Call me silly, but that leads me to believe there might be something damning that they're hiding. The question is whether there enough republicans who are not so morally bankrupt slime bags that are willing to put country before party. I'm not so sure such creatures exist. This isn't like the Nixon era. We can only hope that somewhere, there are enough republicans who find their spines and do the right thing.

Dems controlled Congress when Nixon resigned

Why do people always assert that things "aren't like they used to be" with regard to things like naked partisanship
05-17-2017 , 12:41 AM
Nixon era they all defended him until the tapes got released and enough people turned. Only difference is this is a R congress.

Some sidenote though, it didn't hurt R's to defend nixon for so long and then turn on him, as many of those guys ended up later being Pres or getting the nomination for it.

Best quote I've head tonight that I really hope is true:

Quote:
"The obstruction of justice articles of impeachment counts are stacking up, it seems,” an active duty FBI agent told The Daily Beast on Tuesday. Firing Comey, the agent added, was a “big gamble. You've got to kill him, metaphorically. You can't just wound him."
05-17-2017 , 12:52 AM

Guess we're gonna get the full blown firestorm response.

Maybe it's me. I hope I'm wrong. But these republicans actually seem evil and willing to bastardize all political norms in order to advance their agendas. In the Nixon era there were at least two republicans who summed up the courage to do the right thing. I'm not completely soured on humanity. I'm hoping there are still people like Snowden willing to make the ultimate risk for their country. I'm just not counting on it coming from a republican (although, McCain for as much as I disagree with him on political issues seems honorable enough to be such a man and hero).

Just look at the level that Ted cruz was disgraced by Trump. He insulted his entire family. Curz later publicly said that Trump was a liar, a sociopath who is unfit for the presidency. Fast forward a few weeks and he's making phone calls on Trump's behalf! How can you stand to shave every morning while looking yourself in the mirror if you're him?

There is a significant chance, imo, that he just decided to dig in his heels on this one on a whim, feels like he can't back down, and doesn't really understand the implications of what's going on.

I.E. he's just an idiot. Either that or the 4D chessmate is already upon us.

Dude, Trump literally made fun of McCain for spending years in a POW camp, and he's bent the knee as much as anyone else so far. This has been said before, but the dude is on the verge of retirement, has a ton of political capital and respect, is from a military background with a well-earned reputation for being a tough SOB and he took his bitchslaps and asked for more.

When it comes down to it, he's probably one of the first Rs to really turn, but that's not saying much. He's shown so far that his loyalty lies with the party first.

Funny you say that as I put some thought into that choice. I actually chose them because they're exactly .500 since the NFL merger, and just a hair better than that in the salary cap era. Plus their owner is super-ancient so a lot could change. They're bottom-feeding a bit at the moment but they haven't had a record as bad as last years' for decades.

And of course, the Jay Cutler era is over. I don't how Trubisky will pan out but I definitely like that he's not Jay Cutler.

The old bloody guy you see at around 2:48 here.

Is the guy chanting stuff like "Erdogan is terrorist" in this video

It wasn't like a fight between opposing protesters. Erdogan's bodyguards weren't protecting Erdogan. It was just representatives of the Turkish government beating up protesters in the US. Small scale sure, but an act of war.

It's fun watching John struggle with reality. F that guy.
