Memos to the file are a standard prosecution practice for documenting something. He didn't necessarily do it because he was hedging against being fired. He probably did it because its his standard practice.

WaPo says Comey gave his memo to Justice Dept. Oh, man.

Can only presume Jason Chaffetz means and throw them all promptly in the shredder

Serious question - if it is believed that Trump may have recorded conversations then can he be forced to present this evidence under any scenario?
Absolutely. That's what did Nixon in.

Plus as a bonus Nixon deleted 18 minutes of one of the recordings, which at the end of the day was just the tiniest bit suspicious.

Absolute lol if comeyends up being the one to put out this dumpster fire

Bueller? Bueller? Where are all the republicans jumping ship?

Oh ya, nowhere. None. Not one.

No. Chaffetz has aspirations for higher office in Utah and Utahns do not like Trump. I think he's legit going to turn his fire on Trump to propel himself to the governor's mansion as a republican hero.

Yea that makes sense. I remember one time being interviewed by the FBI for a background check and the dude was taking notes even when they were asking me questions about what it was like when I was growing up.

It wasn't suspicious at all, his secretary merely had to do this

to accidentally delete part of the tape. Much more believable than the **** we're currently being fed.

Haha FOX talking about Russia now. They are shook.

Yup.

So, if there are tapes that back up Comey's memos, that would seem to be very bad for Trump. But, Trump's tweet about "tapes" made it seem like Trump thinks that whatever is on the tapes is good for Trump and bad for Comey, right? So, I guess I'm using my one time on the scenario where Trump not only doesn't destroy the evidence, but actually gleefully turns it over because he think it exonerates him?
05-16-2017 , 07:16 PM
I actually wouldn't be shocked if Trump wants out and resignation is not that bad of an outcome for him, far better than impeachment obviously. Best case is for him to linger around incompetently until the midterms, hopefully allowing Dems to make up enough ground that he forced the Republicans hand on impeachment but also wrecks the party for the foreseeable future.

Will Trump be impeached in 2017 up 12 cents to 33 on Predictit.

i thought about that too. my best guess is trump has so little self-awareness that he can no longer distinguish between the reality he creates on the fly and the reality that is objectively provable to others, and earnestly believest he "tapes" exonerate him at this point. but i'm not getting my hopes up bec trump knows enough to give the "tapes" to his personal lawyers or daughter first
