No matter what trump does it's a good thing, welcome to the cult.

Isn't Guilfoyle the one Roger Ailes proclaimed willing to "get on her knees for anyone" or something similar?

The irony being that Trumpkins are propagated by this vast idea of patriotism and "make America great again". They were so oppose to HRC because she was directly responsible for the deaths of service members in Bengahazi.

The problem is that ideas of "intel" and diplomacy are too meta for these people. They understand what it means to support the military and America but they lack the understanding and intelligence to understand what intel agencies or governments actually do.

Cornyn just withdrew his name as FBI Director too. Republicans don't want to serve Trump anymore. Good. **** him.

That's not why he withdrew, Graham said it, no chance a clearly partisan guy is gonna get through at this point.

Doesn't this make it more likely that we're going to end up with a complete ****ing lunatic?

Why would Cornyn -- with a relatively cushy, de facto lifetime appointment (Republican in Texas) give up the job to serve at Trump's pleasure? It's also now has the potential be a toxic political role the way it turned out for Comey.

Boo, that sucks. Gowdy withdrew like 30 minutes after the news broke. I thought Cornyn saw that + McMaster hung out to dry as the reasons, and claimed otherwise.

Dvaut, I was just going along with the timing.

Nice. I'm posting this on my Facebook page just to rile my Trumper relatives.

I'm sure Netanyahu will just pat Trump on the back and say "its ok, buddy. I know you couldn't help yourself." next week when he goes to Israel.

oh yeah now the dictator of Turkey is coming soon. gotta run!
05-16-2017 , 02:15 PM
So, I never thought this could happen in America, but there's got to now be a non-zero chance of a Military/Intelligence coup in the next 4 years, right?
05-16-2017 , 02:16 PM
The military coup happened back in the 50's. No need for another one.

Trump heals wounds with the soothing salve of classified intel

05-16-2017 , 02:17 PM
Not sure if this was already posted but David Brooks absolutely nails it in the NY Times.

Quote:
When the World Is Led by a Child

...He is thus the all-time record-holder of the Dunning-Kruger effect, the phenomenon in which the incompetent person is too incompetent to understand his own incompetence. Trump thought he’d be celebrated for firing James Comey. He thought his press coverage would grow wildly positive once he won the nomination. He is perpetually surprised because reality does not comport with his fantasies.

Third, by adulthood most people can perceive how others are thinking. For example, they learn subtle arts such as false modesty so they won’t be perceived as obnoxious.

But Trump seems to have not yet developed a theory of mind. Other people are black boxes that supply either affirmation or disapproval. As a result, he is weirdly transparent. He wants people to love him, so he is constantly telling interviewers that he is widely loved. In Trump’s telling, every meeting was scheduled for 15 minutes but his guests stayed two hours because they liked him so much.
