It'll be forgotten about and moved on, sally yates was 7 days ago. Seven.

McMaster also denied they gave russia methods and sources--something that wasn't reported by WaPo, so there's that.

Seems that he shared the ISIS using laptop computers to sneak bombs into the US threat. This was considered going off-script which is obviously a bad thing when dealing with sensitive meetings.

Thankfully, the material shared this time doesn't seem to be destructive. What is disconcerting is an unpredictable head of state with the attention span of a 5 year old is interacting with influential people about thing he does not understand and does not want to understand.

sally yates said absolutely nothing new tho?

the replies tho:

" but what he said didn't happen wasn't in the Post article. More smoke and mirrors."

In other Opsec news, Trump's bodyguard had Gen Mattis's phone number on a sticky note on the outside of a binder and got a photo taken by a news organization, some random guy noticed it, called Mattis, and then called the news organization to take the photo down.

So who is he going to start a completely unprovoked war with? His distraction game is weakening.

But his distractions themselves are strengthening. Our perspective is muddied unfortunately.

Trump's odds of lasting to 2018 dipped ~8 points on Predictit.

How do you contain the damage for fake news that's going to come out a week later? If this part of the WaPo story is true:

Quote:
After Trump’s meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and the National Security Agency.
...then McMaster and the rest of them have to be lying, right?

Seems like an overreaction. This isn't even in the Top 10 Trump **** Ups. Maybe THIS is the one where the dam finally breaks, but he's already got a few Respected by Everyone defenders like McMaster carrying his water here. As I wrote last week, if this doesn't get past the Fox and Friends threshold, it won't even be in the news cycle tomorrow afternoon, in fact, I fully expect that with Hillary starting a PAC today we'll likely be talking about her treachery selling uranium to the Soviets instead.

Kind of annoyed at WaPo's misleading headline. I really hope they get taken to task for this type of deception in their writing.

Spoiler:
they won't

Flipped on FNC like an hour ago and they were actually covering the story. Not going super hard at Trump but it was mostly reality based, at least.

Just flipped it on again and they were talking about North Korea, lol. Guess the higher ups have squashed the coverage. Nothing to see here.

Did you read the WaPo article? He just blew the cover of an important ISIS intelligence asset.

I agree, and I'm picking up a few more "no" shares. No one is coming forth publicly with accusations, McMaster is providing strong cover, and this may not have even been technically illegal, since the POTUS has broad power over intelligence sharing.

so its not fake, at least most of it, good.

Did they crank up that movie Bio-Dome? That movie is the best ever.

Abundance of caution

the crucial part of what mcmaster said is "the story as reported is false"

basically confirming that a big part of it is true imo

"It was during that meeting, officials said, that Trump went off script and began describing details of an Islamic State terrorist threat related to the use of laptop computers on aircraft."

Yeah, that's the information shared. The sources who say it happened are anonymous. The ones who deny it aren't. I'm not willing to jump at it so quickly.

Like I said, it's disturbing how easily the POTUS can go off-script but the Washington Post blew it out of proportion. He didn't commit treason (yet).
05-15-2017 , 07:54 PM
Wat. There's nothing misleading about it. As long as their multiple sources are correct, then revealing classified info is exactly what he did.
05-15-2017 , 07:54 PM
Worry not, Fox News is on the case!
They are now covering the VERY IMPORTANT story of rioting in Berkeley.
05-15-2017 , 07:55 PM
Don't worry UberBob Fox is on the REAL NEWS TRAIN.

Dude,

Quote:
The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.

The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said Trump’s decision to do so endangers cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State

[...]

Trump went on to discuss aspects of the threat that the United States learned only through the espionage capabilities of a key partner. He did not reveal the specific intelligence-gathering method, but he described how the Islamic State was pursuing elements of a specific plot and how much harm such an attack could cause under varying circumstances. Most alarmingly, officials said, Trump revealed the city in the Islamic State’s territory where the U.S. intelligence partner detected the threat.

The Post is withholding most plot details, including the name of the city, at the urging of officials who warned that revealing them would jeopardize important intelligence capabilities.
They flat-out blew the cover of some kind of operation going on in ISIS territory. Like, someone might get beheaded over this.
