For what I was saying earlier, I don't know if I can put it strongly enough. Look at this way: for all intents and purposes, Trump controls two out of the three branches of government now. He's very close to establishing full control.

Einbert beat me to it, but I was going to add that having Trump impeached and then successfully removed from office is flat-out impossible. The only offenses serious enough to cause 67+ Senators to vote him out would be ones that would cause him to resign long before it ever got that far, anyway.

We're stuck with Trump for another 3 1/2 years unless he gets caught committing some extremely egregious wrong, far beyond the talking points being used now.

impeachment scenario also not a guarantee at all it hurts trump, clinton only got more popular from his (GOP over reached for it--similar to russia here for dems), and see clay davis trial in the wire. Trump knows how to win on TV and that is gonna be nothing but a total **** show.

You realize that things aren't just going to pause as they are now, right? They're going to get worse and worse as Trump runs into more and more AGs and IGs and investigations that hit closer and closer to home, driving him madder and madder into complete paranoia. Depends on whether GOP is able to install a new Director of the FBI. This McCabe guy seems straight up, I think Democrats should demand that he stay on and finish the job. If GOP is able to install a guy who will be "loyal" to Trump this country is done. Finished.

The trial is just a show. The vote is what counts, and 67 Senators aren't going to vote to convict him. You could have him on tape with Putin doing a deal to hack Hillary's emails, and there's 0% chance you get the 67 Senators to convict him.
