The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

1. Comey completely botched the Clinton email stuff

2. The POTUS should never be able to fire and replace a man investigating him, his campaign, or his friends.

LOL @ these right wing trolls saying that 1&2 are mutually exclusive.

The thing is the firing is reasonable. Dems aren't arguing the firing, especially since they too called for it. What were arguing and concerned with is the actual timing and reasoning given which is complete bull**** and is highly suspicious. We all gotta be on the same page though or we look just like those ******* Republicans talking out of both sides of their mouths.

The title of Woodward and Bernstein's book - "All of the President's Men" is apparently alluding to "all the King's horses and all the King's men / couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again."

Henceforth, Orange Fuhrer is to be referred to as Trumpty Dumpty

the fact that this administration is completely taken aback by the resulting blowback and amazement over this bold move is possibly our only saving grace here, indicating that they're all too incompetent to have really thought through it all.

it's not reasonable at all and you should be ashamed of looking so dumb right now

I'm not happy w the firing obviously nor do I condone it. It's obviously corrupt and our very democracy is at risk right now.

Depends how much of their amazement is sincere and how much is scripted. "Oh, we thought Democrats would LOVE this, they complained about Comey so much? Look like you can't make these guys happy, just proves how PARTISAN they are and stand in the way of Making America Great Again."

I think either scenario is plausible. If Trump decides recently that it's urgent to fire Comey and needs to invent a pretend rationale, "play dumb and pretend like you're just caving to bipartisan demands then feign surprise that you only meant to do a commendable, universally agreed on thing when the outrage arrives" is shameless and stupid but not outside the bounds of what they might cook up. These are the guys blaming Obama for empowering noted corrupted foreign agent Flynn; why not ham-handedly blame Democrats for fictional political pressure to fire Comey?

edit: ehh they can be actually
05-10-2017 , 07:44 AM
Dvaut when do you go to bed?
05-10-2017 , 07:48 AM
Can't trust anybody if you're Trump right now.
Can't trust the WH if you're the public right now.

If this doesn't come to a head soon, it's only a matter of time before Trump opponents start falling out of 4th floor buildings and having blue chemical accidents in prison.

yea this all makes sense. taking the blame game another level further, it seemed to me like they tried to pawn it off as ultimately jeff sessions' decision/idea in the letter they penned to comey. remember sessions lied about contacts he had with russian officials in his confirmation hearing- wouldn't be surprised if trump uses him to try and insulate himself from criticism/scrutiny here.

The divide between Fox and MSM, and between Trump supporters and the rest of the world, has widened a ****-ton since yesterday.
05-10-2017 , 08:06 AM
Btw if Trump's actual reasoning was the BS that Comey no longer had the credibility or trust to carry out his duties and Trump wasn't just terrified of the Russia investigations, the announcement would have been that Comey was being fired and replaced immediately by Preet Bharara. Or Merrick Garland. Or someone else with broad, bipartisan credibility. But instead we're going to get some toady hack like Arpaio, Sheriff Clarke, Rudy, or Gowdy who has way less credibility than Comey

Nice try, deplorable. But there's clearly a conditional in the first quote right after your first bolded. A conditional that was not the case when he first said Comey should be canned. There's like a tiny little difference between Comey being canned when he's not heading Trump/Russia investigation and when he is. DUCY or is that a little too complex of a difference for you to grasp?

Nice gotcha attempt tho. I'm sure with like-minded simpletons seems like a sick diss. Better luck next time, deplorable

Got ya. So it's OK for President HRC to fire Comey for investigating her. But only after the investigation is complete. Got it!

You honestly cant make the distinction here on why it would be less objectionable to fire him back in january?

Awval gonna awval, shut the **** up with this stupid bull**** you deplorable trump supporter

Lol @ "for investigating her" when talking about him influencing the election over something he exonerated her for, and saying that's equal to a sitting president whose administration is still under active investigation

He would be fired for the actual reasons that Trump WH claims to have fired him - incompetence. Obv not for just merely having investigating her. And, in that event, he would have been fired by a POTUS who he is not currently investigating. Like, this is super ****ing simple to grasp man. It's really not rocket science.

Pull yourself together awval.

I can totally buy this.

However, why do I have to challenge the echo chamber before we get to actual political discussion.

Anyway. I do think an independent commission is the best way for the country to move on. Have an investigation. If Trump is compromised get him out. If it's not, move on.
05-10-2017 , 08:22 AM
That's my final say on the matter. I am going to practice what I preach and no longer engage this troll. Awval is clearly not mentally equipped to discuss politics with me
05-10-2017 , 08:24 AM
"Echo chamber" lol **** you awval, you enable this ****ery by spewing right wing hawt takes and accusations of imagined hypocrisy as a first defense against bad words about your dear leader
