The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

Man I don't know if I'm more pissed at Trump or the Trump slappies that are oblivious as to what this means.

All the President's Men is a classic book...and movie. It's astounding how completely corrupt the Nixon administration was.

Caveat is that I was too busy with the end of the semester to completely absorb whatever happened with Comey's botched testimony.

All the President's Men is a standard recommendation. I'm currently reading Washington Journal, a collection of diary entries written by journalist Elizabeth Drew as Watergate was going down (so it has a different style/perspective than books written after the fact, which I enjoy).

I haven't read it, but someone recommended Nixonland when I asked this question a little while ago.

The slappies are happy because Clinton might finally be prosecuted

The government will not self-correct. Like Watergate, the only chance of getting to the truth and getting these clowns out of the White House is with damaging leaks from inside. Who will be our Woodward and Bernstein, who will be our Deep Throat?
05-09-2017 , 06:58 PM
So who is going to investigate Trump now?

I assume he will pick a replacement who will not investigate him or Russia

Does it matter? The days of W&B are long past. Even if someone of their stature emerged, a million tweets about them being fake news would be released, and would be swallowed down by 50% of the population.

This is what's so frustrating. You got guys like Avwal and Inso gloating in the Comey thread and it's barely an hour. Extrapolate that to 50% of the US population.
05-09-2017 , 07:11 PM
LOL < 50% of the US population could tell you who James Comey is.

According to the Trump slappies on Facebook, Trey Gowdy is the man for the job.

At least dems are united in their messaging on this:

"Nixonian"
"Must appoint special prosecutor"

Who is Trey Gowdy?
