This thing has no chance of getting past the Senate the way it stands today right?

I think the GOP knew this and used today as a diversion for what really happened. Dodd-Frank and the EO on religion. Everyone is pissed (rightfully so) and yelling about the AHCA. Meanwhile...

Legal abortions were most needed around 50, 60, 70 years ago. I can think of 217 good candidates off the top of my head.

I considered this, but the electoral consequences are not worth the distraction. No, they think they can get this through the Senate or get something similar through the Senate and they want the budget neutral tax cut.

According to the ACLU, the EO on religion is pretty stupid, just a pledge to explore rather than actually meaning something.

Oh wow, Trump outdid himself before. He was talking about the US healthcare system and said, "I shouldn't say this in front of the Australian Prime Minister because they have better health care than we do."

Australia has universal health care.

EDIT: I just saw this clip on AllIn but not finding the quote anywhere online. Maybe I don't have it right. Will rewatch...

so in what normally wouldn't go in a US presidential thread but might have some future relevance.

Russia is blaming Ukraine because Ukraine cut off Crimea's electricity.

Perhaps you should've thought of that before taking it from them *******s.

The right's way of working is pretty simple...

Rich people in power give rich people more money and power > rich people who got more money and power spends money on propaganda > the poor and uneducated believe the propaganda that the rich are helping them.

The thing that really gets me is how they believe that the rest are the ones beeing fooled and are brainwashed, of course... maddening.
