Trump is no genius. That's clear. But his arrogance, narcissism, overconfidence, indifference to the truth, ignorance about how gov't works, and unwillingness to learn the details of anything are more serious problems.

These are all classic signs of a very dumb person in power. They simply don't have to tools to actually do the job so they are left with over-compensation. If you want to find a stupid person looks for the closest one proclaiming how intelligent they are.

Equisitive?

Acquisitive. Trump is very much this.

Inquisitive. I'm not sure.

It's amazing though, right? A stupid person without a basic understanding of the world, that is illiterate and speaks without thinking managed to become a billionaire and the President of the United States of America.

Meanwhile highly intelligent, morally superior, articulate and highly motivated liberals are left to cyber high five each other on internet forums over their witty criticism of him.

Satire, sarcasm, truth. It doesn't matter how someone interprets this paragraph. It's got so many uses.

As long as they were states that didn't vote for him.

Hey look, he issued a correction. We'll not really. He's trying to shift the goalposts. But not really that either. No sure exactly what he's trying to do. All I know is public humiliation got him to do it.

being angry is an important aspect of leadership

The line between satire and reality is gone. All those Colbert clips from like 2005 are things actual Republicans say now.

well said. He is truly a moron when it comes to most things but especially history.

For those of you who might be worried about Trump's effect on Republicans, it's only negligible...in some areas. In other areas, there may be a little cause for worry.

As recently as 2014, a CNN poll found that only 16% of Republican voters saw Russia as an ally. The same poll found last week that 56% of Republican voters now see Putin's government as friendly.

The dumbest fraction of society voting for the dumbest person in America. Makes sense to me.

When South Carolina wanted to secede didn't Jackson famously claim he was going to hang the first South Carolian he saw on the first tree he saw (directed towards his vice president, John C Calhoun?)... would have been great to ask Trump to elaborate.

Apparently Steve Bannon told him some story about Andrew Jackson and the civil war and that's why Trump is tweeting about it. He's like a parrot; if someone says something to him or he sees something on TV he'll tweet about it 10 minutes later.
