The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

Fill In The Blank

"I thought it was more of a ______."

Lawrence O'Donnell showed the full quote about how being President was supposed to be "easier" than real estate mogul. Unlike other reports though, he focused on the next sentence, pointing out that even Donald Trump's own filter stopped himself from saying something bad...which means it probably had to be REALLY bad.

Quote:
I loved my -- I loved my previous life. I loved my previous life. I had so many things going. I actually -- this is more work than my previous life. I thought it would be easier. I thought it was more of a -- I'm a details-oriented person. I think you would say that. But I do miss my old life. This -- I like to work, so that's not a problem. But this is actually more work.
O'Donnell then asked viewers to tweet him the missing word or phrase. Cakewalk? Breeze? Had to be worse than those I think.

Why does Trump's base continue to stick with him? Because Trump IS delivering on the most important thing for them--rolling back social progress.

Fly,

It is not important that the person stoking resentment be an actual Everyman. See Trump, Donald J. See also Bush, George W.

It took President Obama more than a year to pass Obamacare. It has taken President Trump a matter of weeks to fashion a replacement for Obamacare that lowers costs, increases access and improves quality in health care.
It's the most fun to read this whole article as though it's satirical. Mrs. Alternative Facts shows in the quote above how to manufacture achievements and fool fools into backing a fool.

What made it even worse for me was their little Introducing Our New Columnist write up, particularly this bit:

When Adolph Ochs set out the mission for The New York Times at the end of the 19th century, he said he hoped to make its opinion pages a forum for “intelligent discussion from all shades of opinion.” Given how polarizing and partisan this era has become, we think it’s important to recommit ourselves to that goal. Taking the goal seriously doesn’t mean letting any opinion into the debate. There’s no place for bigotry or dishonesty in intelligent discussion.
**** off.

I think he was probably going to say he thought it would be more like his executive position with his 2 bit company where he just sits around watching TV or whatever and only does his very important meetings and delegates everything else. Aw shucks, turns out Presidents actually do have to do work and make decisions.

If I've learned anything from Trump, it's that GOP knob slobbing of rich people is like the least justified thing ever. I mean I always intuitively knew there were some dumb richies out there, but holy **** that someone as idiotic as Trump can have such wealth.

Yes, these things get said by the right all the time.

It's a little more jarring to have it splained by a guy who lives and breathes deadly weapons to a massive audience who also lives and breathes deadly weapons.

Not just dumb but incredibly, tremendously lazy.

The executive branch administers the government. Trump's big accomplishment so far is in ****ing that up by either appointing monsters or crooks or leaving positions open.

Look at ICE and the EPA. He doesn't need any legislative victories to transform what the federal government does.

WaPo should do it and fill the whole page aside from a headline saying "As requested by President Trump".

Read the twitter thread. They're doing it on purpose. Of course you can endlessly argue if it's a white power symbol, or them making fun of the left by pretending to do a white power symbol. Which is a pretty common theme with the alt-right. Nice how it can mean whatever you want!

This discussion is so foreign to me. That elections and especially the government do have so much influence on the SCOTUS means there is most certainly something wrong with the division of power. Also, just send those guys in retirement somewhere between 65 and 70, ridiculous.

“You look at the rules of the Senate, even the rules of the House — but the rules of the Senate and some of the things you have to go through — it's really a bad thing for the country, in my opinion. They're archaic rules. And maybe at some point we're going to have to take those rules on, because, for the good of the nation, things are going to have to be different.”
