You are all making an error in logic in terms of how trump and his supporters, like Awval, think. They don't define immigrant in the normal way, as in born elsewhere. They simply define it as non-white. This is the only criteria they use to define good vs bad. Safe vs dangerous. Us vs them. Thier ideology is nothing more than racism. I think we can tell from the statement Trump issued and his recent tweets that Trump is not happy about the way this action is being received. He wants overwhelming support and universal idolization. It hasn't dawned on him that he'll never get that. Especially not by doing stuff like this.

This is what Tea Party types do what they get in power in deep red states. They do a lot of big sweeping actions, especially right after getting elected. They tend to piss off the business community, most minority communities, and oftentimes the majority of voters with these big dramatic actions. Eventually they cross a line and they have to back off just a bit. But they are always pushing, trying to find out where that line is and just how much they can get away with. Usually the answer is quite a lot.
