Jeff Sessions, Jeffery Lord, Bill O'Reilly

There was an article in the LA Times today or yesterday about North Korea and it mentioned that there have been reforms there the last few years. It wasn't that long ago that there was a huge threat of famine and a fair amount of actual starvation. People were eating bark and pine cones and stuff like that. But over the last few years things have opened up on some small business and there are markets and restaurants available which were forbidden a short time ago.

Didn't read the article, are you talking about 20 years ago? Most people have no idea how close to war we were with North Korea in the mid nineties. I have some friends who were in the army at the time they legit thought the North Koreans were going to march south at the time.

Trump crashes a Purple Heart ceremony for a photo op and says "congratulations, tremendous" to the recipient. Trump will forever be a complete embarrassment to the United States.

He was the one presenting the Purple Heart, how is that "crashing"?

"When I heard about this I wanted to do it myself," Trump said before taking a picture with Barrientos and his wife Tammy. "Congratulations. Tremendous."

To me that sounds like the ceremony was planned and then Trump decided he was going to present the purple heart. Crashing send like a fair description.

Seems right and googling seems to confirm famine threat in 1997 with worry about it's possibly leading to war.

This seems obviously correct to me. Bill has all of the loot so if you can fade a prenup, you are set for life and he's pretty old. I don't need to talk about how much Sessions sucks. Lord is an unreal troll but he seems to have a good time with it, probably great in the sack

Energy Secretary Rick Perry on Fox News:

"You can't have economic growth and clean up the environment at the same time."

NYTimes going long on our good friend Director James Comey.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/22/u...-election.html

The article explains his motivations and the circumstances surrounding his decisions. At every step of the way, he makes the wrong FPS move, and he makes it unilaterally. It is hard not to read heavy partisanship into his choices (possibly subconscious but still there), as he constantly avoids consultation with his Democratic superiors. To Comey, they are incapable of rendering credible judgments on Hillary Clinton, yet amazingly, the main given reason for his October surprise was fear of Republican blowback.

I hope if the Democrats ever get to elect another President, they will learn a lesson from their experience with Comey, and staff exclusively within the party.

oh the actual quote is even worse "It would be bad for the Korean Peninsula. It would be bad for China. It would be bad for Japan, be bad for South Korea. It would be the end of North Korea. But what it would not do is hit America"

America first apparently just means apocalypse for everybody else

How do people listen to Reince Priebus and think "yeah, he's competent and trustworthy"?

Fox News isn't out of the woods yet. I think it's time to take down Fox News, the whole channel, and take them down for good.

Bill O’Reilly Is Gone, But Fox News’s Legal Nightmare Continues
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer...continues.html
Quote:
Next week, according to sources, seven black Fox News employees plan to join a racial discrimination suit filed last month by two colleagues. The original lawsuit alleged that Fox News’s longtime comptroller, Judy Slater, subjected members of Fox’s payroll staff to racial insults for years. (Fox News fired Slater in February after those employees began litigation against the network.)

Lawyers representing the payroll employees are demanding that Fox’s accounting director, Tammy Efinger, also be removed from supervising an employee because she allegedly participated in Slater’s racist behavior. In a letter to the network’s lawyers obtained by New York, the attorneys state: “Not once did Ms. Efinger step in or attempt to interfere with Ms. Slater’s outrageous conduct.” The letter adds, instead, “Ms. Efinger chose to laugh or giggle following Ms. Slater’s vitriol.”

The letter also includes new allegations of racism in Fox News’s accounting department. According to the plaintiffs’ attorneys, Slater demanded that black employees hold “arm wrestling matches’” with white female employees in her office, just down the hall from Ailes’s office on the 2nd floor of Fox headquarters. “Forcing a black woman employee to ‘fight’ for the amusement and pleasure of her white superiors is horrifying. This highly offensive and humiliating act is reminiscent of Jim Crow era battle royals,” the letter says, referring to the practice of paying black men to fight blindfolded at carnivals for white spectators’ entertainment. The lawyers argue that Efinger bragged about wanting to “fight” a black employee.

The new claims, if true, reveal not just the failures of the legal and HR departments to deal with problematic managers but also just how deep the culture of discrimination and harassment may have run during Ailes’s reign.

Reached for comment, an attorney representing the employees, Jeanne Christensen, said, “There will be more complaints forthcoming in the next few days.”

Alisyn Camerota is on CNN right now claiming for the first time, they said, that Roger Ailes sexually harassed her when she worked there.

She said "When I was single and first working there, I approached him for a promotion and he told me that would require the two of us...working together...more closely...away from there...like in a hotel room... if I knew what he meant."

And everyone was chastised by the administration for complaining that the executive order had too much latitutde in deporting people. The counter was, "We're only going to deport the worst of the worst." Yep.

It just boggles my mind people like Sessions and Trump can see a person that was brought to the US when they were 2 years old and say "You need to get out you dirty foreigner!"
