Horrible insult to women indeed!
Even by Trump standards that's a pretty tip-top tweet. I like to imagine that after he wrote it he kissed his fingers like a cartoon chef.

From my exhaustive studies, that's actually pretty common, the class of people who are most outwardly performative of "redneck" "real American" **** are children of privilege, think about how Southern frat guys wear kitschy American flag ****.

Actual trailer trash has real problems like getting their car repossessed and dying of fentanyl, but Ole Miss had a riot when Romney lost.

This just ties back into how Trump's base is absolutely not the white working class.

For real. If you come from nothing you gotta earn your stripes on the public courts.

I get it, though. If you're an upper-middle-class white suburban teen, you're enmeshed in the most uninteresting sub-culture ever, so why not appropriate redneckery. In my neighborhood, all the white teens were listening to Dr. Dre and posing as hardcore gangsters, but it's the same idea.

It's well known that kid rock had it pretty good as a kid. Rap was his way of lashing out and he just happened to be good at it and turned it into a career.

I contend he is one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen. He does a portion of every show playing every thing there is.

This is like me saying Trump is a world class debater.

I don't mind Kid Rock's music. I am not a fan of his political ideals. But really I have never spent any money on his music. But if you like him, that is fine too. Every one has different taste!

I'm beginning to think we elected the wrong guy. Only Kid Rock can make this country great again!

kid rock is a performance artist and is portraying a character. and that character's audience bigly supports trump so he's gotta keep up the act even when he's not touring

I've noticed a lot of the local rednecks drive F350's and I know a few guys that own over 250 guns and rifles. They sure love complaining about how hard their lives were under Obama. It's amusing to see people w/ a net worth over $500K act like they live in destitute conditions.
04-22-2017 , 03:23 PM
Yeah that was something that came up a few times. During that bizarre Hillbilly Elegy phase some Beltway dip**** posed what he thought was just an epic own of the sheltered elite by asking how many of them know someone with a pickup truck.

The F150 base model costs more than a Prius. American typical suburban dip**** dad level SUVs cost more than the 3-series BMWs and entry level Acuras and ****.

Shooting is an incredibly expensive hobby. Not just the guns, guns aren't super cheap but you can get a good gun for $400-$600. But ammunition and range time and hunting license fees and such make it a hobby with relatively low cost of entry but high continuing expenses, shooting even once a month(non-.22) is incredibly expensive. It'd be cheaper to buy a latte every day.

It's one of those things that wraps around to expose the bubble of the Real American worshipping Acela dip****s so perfectly. A single 00 buck 12 ga shotgun shell costs a dollar.

Like when you see a story about some dude with 15 tricked out rifles, translate that in your head to someone who owns 5 Rolexes. Economic anxiety, you know?
04-22-2017 , 03:39 PM
Not that any of that is wrong but you can use guns fairly cheep if you live in the boondocks (no range necessary) and load your own bullets. But yeah most of us poor folk aint driving shinny F150's and the gun hoarders are spending a lot of cash...

I can't tell which Trump tweet is more insulting & hypocritical, the one from a month ago about honoring women on International Women's Day or the one from an hour ago celebrating Earth Day.

A gov't shutdown over funding of a border wall that Mexico is supposed to pay for would be utterly ridiculous. And to make matters worse is this olive branch to Dems over healthcare (again lol) looking to swap HC $ for wall $. The trading of peoples's health for political gain is all sorts of gross.
04-22-2017 , 04:37 PM
Would Republicans in Congress even take that deal? There have to be enough fiscal hawks there who are supremely grossed out by a "deal" piling on money for both a wall and healthcare subsidies when they'd rather have $0 for each.
04-22-2017 , 04:57 PM
Democrats did a bang-up job gaslighting themselves after the election with all that Hillbilly Elegy stuff. Somehow the party that won the majority vote and is overwhelmingly a favorite on policy positions managed to convince themselves that they exist in some kind of bubble.

So Trump fired the Surgeon General because he's against the NRA and for the ACA.

Trump of course then puts a nurse in charge.

Doesn't even crack the top 100 in cray cray this week.

Can anything even pass? The GOP is such a huge umbrella it's hard to get them to agree on anything. Isn't that why Trump is threatening the Dems to get on board with his plan?

Stuff that companies want like selling your internet data can get passed

Stuff where there are competing companies wanting things (like healthcare, trade, etc) are harder for them to passs
