Its pretty much impossible the US didn't given the polio vaccine, high yield crops etc. It should be pretty obvious even otherwise....the last 50 years have been the most peaceful in human history so its pretty much impossible for the US to be as powerful as it was over the latter half of the 20th century and not generally a benefit to random world citizen.

It takes a lot of mental gymnastics to tie together the polio vaccine and us government foreign policy.

Another Trump administration flip-flop today, besides the dreamer one. Kelly just said weed was exempt from the drug war 2 days ago. By the language used, it looks like Sessions got to him. These amateurs are all over the place for every issue, and then wind up coming down on the side against the general public every single time.

You did basically leave that opening. The US has had a lot of positive impacts, like Henry Wallace on agriculture, and negative impacts like Kissinger on peasants who prefer not to be bombed.

That press release is very N.Korean, Dear Leader-esque.

There are many sites on which to follow the Georgia special election (NYT, CNN, etc.), but here's a link to the GA Sec. of State's page with election numbers, if anyone wants it. The Sec. of State might be an awful person, but the site contains a lot of info. You can even download detailed spreadsheets:

And what in the world is this all about? I thought the deportation was either a screw up or a Trump lie. This (R) guy is toasting it?

NYT has election results here (currently 0s across the board, but I assume they'll come soon)

Well, with about 9,500 votes counted, Ossoff has 71% of the vote. I'm guessing that's early votes, though, where he was expected to dominate. Obviously that number will come down.

Looks like the NYT's site updates right with the official GA SOS site, so either should be good.

Here is the predictit market for the GA election. I assume if there is any actionable info coming out that the market will reflect it. Been hovering around this mark all day, so will be interesting to see how it moves in the coming hours.

Looks to be outperforming Hillary in the early reports.

Think I would take Ossof at evens at this point.

Oh it's crystal clear.

Nothing to get excited about yet for those early numbers. The reporters doing a live chat on NYT.com said it was from in-person early votes in a very blue area, so the results were expected.

I like that NYT has maps that include every precinct. It took me a while to find which outline was mine, but now I'm interested to see exactly how it turned out. I saw my crazy neighbor and his wife at the polls today and I'm sure he's a die-hard Trumper, so my wife and I cancelled their votes (though I wouldn't be shocked if his wife didn't vote the same as him).

Ossoff's ground-game was strong. Had someone come to my house at 5:00 tonight, so they were out until the very end.
