Quote:
“My feeling is if you can't heal the sick, we don't call you doctor,” Bill Walsh, The Washington Post's late, great copy chief, told the Los Angeles Times in 2009
If I'm understanding the rules for copy it's
A medical doctor is a doctor.
Dr. Dre is a doctor.
Dr. J is a doctor.
A doctor of philosophy is not a doctor.
So it turns out that if Gorka wanted to be called Dr. Gorka in print, he should have either acquired a medical degree, or taken a stage name of Dr. Gorka while attaining any level of education other than PhD.
