But they're both liars as well. What he says gives you insight into what deplorables are thinking and/or want their followers to believe, but has very little if any bearing on truth.

Will trump get us all killed? It is decidedly so.

Take note everyone, this is how morals and ethics work. I consider myself a Democrat, or at least I almost always vote Democrat. But this guy's behavior is reprehensible and wrong, even though he's a Democrat. Wrong is wrong.

Rape survivors will go to jail if they refuse to testify in Louisiana: District attorney
http://www.rawstory.com/2017/04/rape...omments=disqus
Quote:
Survivors of sexual assault are often in shock or suffering from trauma, but one Louisiana District Attorney couldn’t possibly care less if it leads to a conviction.

Democrat Leon Cannizzaro explained to WWL radio that sometimes a crime victim needs to be put in jail so that he can get the criminal.

“If I have to put a victim of a crime in jail for eight days in order to keep the rapist off of the street for a period years, and prevent him from raping or harming someone else, I’m going to do that,” he said. Though he didn’t explain how he’ll get the survivor to testify against the accused.

Cannizzaro isn’t the only one. District Attorney Devon Anderson in Houston did the same thing last year. The girl ran from the courtroom and stood in traffic in an apparent suicide attempt.

A new study from Court Watch NOLA disputes the effectiveness of the tactic, arguing that DAs that implement this policy aren’t taking into account the trauma of a sexual assault or domestic violence survivor.

Cannizzaro said the study is “sloppy,” The New Orleans Advocate quoted, because the number of victims that were women wasn’t accurate. Court Watch NOLA corrected the number.

I think you will find that Daddy has indeed scared him into not doing it again.

I would put money on it.

It's about noon 4/15 in N. Korea? Isn't this supposed to be the big day?

we are beyond pathetic right now. thanks middle america.
I would normally tell any Russian official to get bent wit their statements but this one, unfortunately rings true. Trump is an extreme knee-jerk reactionary who has finally stumbled upon the way to get the adulation he needs to breath, as president.

Traditionally the military is supposed to be gung ho pushing for action and the White House has been the regulator. The regulator has basically been removed. Ivanka may be the only thing standing between us and a global catostrophe.

The thing with these free market loving "populists" is that the market as a moral arbiter is so ingrained that even if they are actually well intentioned (which most probably aren't) they simply can't go through with doing anything about it. FDR and Mary Heaton Vorse were all loathed by their class as "class traitors" because they actually put their money and lives where their mouths were.

Quote:
A lot of people asked how it is that the person who represents that populist thing in America happens to be this billionaire, right? But it’s that sense of: is it a fair and legitimate and reasonable way to make money? So when they look at Trump they say, ‘OK, well, he built buildings.’ Right, I get that, that’s a thing. And he was on TV and he did this show that lots of people enjoyed watching. That’s fair enough. That’s stuff that I can understand. Whereas with Mitt Romney’s wealth, it’s all from financial wheeler-dealing that I don’t really understand.”

Would they understand what Hilton and his wife do? He looks increasingly flustered. “I think that they understand … I just don’t know. I think that it depends on …” I say I think they’d look at the job titles of most Silicon Valley millionaires and think that these guys didn’t risk the roof over their head to build businesses; they just got corporate jobs that paid them in stock and made them super-rich. “Yes, yes,” he nods. “I get that, but how are you going to actually do anything about that? In the end, you come back to, well, there’s a market and that’s how it works.”

It seems a remarkable coincidence that the sole pillar of our economic system this radical blue-sky thinker won’t challenge is the one that has made his family super-rich. He adds: “The argument for markets is competitive markets,” but this is a tricky defence to mount in Silicon Valley, I suggest, when the economics of the internet are notorious for creating monopolies – Google, Amazon and so on. “I agree, totally, yes.”

So, I try once more: can he say that he and his family deserve their wealth? “I think that we’re maybe overstating the degree to which we’re in that economic category. We’re genuinely not.”

Hilton lives in the second most expensive zip code in America, in a house that cost $20.5m. Whetstone is thought to have earned in excess of $50m at Google. He’s quite right, there’s an empathy problem among the rich. I’m just amazed he thinks he’s miraculously unafflicted by it.

I have the same position regarding Islamic terrorism as Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton, not sure why this is so weird unless you're totally ignorant of the situation

Decent piece on how Bannon will not go quietly into the night if Trump gets rid of him.

Trump probably just keeps him around, throws him a bone every now and then rather than cut him loose in favor of the "NY wing" or whatever it's called.
My feelings are Bannon has a haedcore breitbart audience but Beyond that has pretty much zero influence. And it's not exactly like he has other viable optimism to support. He can cause a stir, especially amongst his rsbud base but I don't think he has any real movable power to make trump, think twice about following him or crossing him.

But..."President Bannon", Saturday Night Live, etc. Those things obv struck nerves with him. Who knows what's true with this White House? Needs more leaks IMO.

Trump faces Chinese mockery following embarrassing reversals
Quote:
The reversal hasn't gone unnoticed in Beijing, where the American president is now the subject of mockery.

Te-Ping Chen, a Beijing-based reporter for the Wall Street Journal, notes that Chinese media are gleefully mocking Trump for doing such an abrupt 180 on an issue that was one of the staples of his 2016 presidential campaign -- in fact, Trump had originally vowed to officially label China a currency manipulator on the first day of his presidency.

"Eating his words!" reads one headline, as translated by Chen.

"Trump slaps self in face, again," reads another.

Note, in China, the media is controlled by the state, so this ridicule is an extension of the government's own messaging.

Of particular interest in these headlines was the use of the word "again" -- because while Trump has only been in office for a few months, this wasn't the first time he's embarrassed himself with China.

Russia, Iran, and Syria openly threatening the USA, China mocking and laughing... Trump just might be the COAT. (Cuckliest of All Time)
