Yes, running on explicit white supremacy is bad. Yes, not delivering will upset white supremacists. Worth noting it's better than delivering. But it's a message that won so it will be used again, with more.
Trump hasn't failed them too much though. He put Bannon in charge. They love the Muslim ban and plenty of other stuff.
