Plus you should assume the premise is a lie. It was more like $50B and it wasn't a gift. It didn't come from American tax payers. It was a release of seized Iranian assets.

Is it a way to abdicate any responsibility for doing more now to stop all this before it's too late?

I apologize for interrupting your high five party over whatever it is you think just happened by reminding you that there remains a very good chance that Trump still serves 8 years, and that getting rid of Trump doesn't solve any of our biggest political problems. Have some more popcorn. Enjoy the show.

cheer up zikzak, maybe before those 8 years are up, you'll get the opportunity to be the last man standing on the pile of ashes which has become earth and you can proudly declare how right you were the whole time

man you'll be the coolest guy on the planet then

Incoming New York attorney general plans wide-ranging investigations of Trump and family

Quote:
James outlined some of the probes she intends to pursue with regard to the president, his businesses and his family members. They include:

Any potential illegalities involving Trump's real estate holdings in New York, highlighting a New York Times investigation published in October into the president's finances.

The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with a Russian official.

Examine government subsidies Trump received, which were also the subject of Times investigative work.

Whether he is in violation of the emoluments clause in the U.S. Constitution through his New York businesses.

Continue to probe the Trump Foundation.

State charges could mean Trump goes to jail when and if he ever stops being POTUS.

IANAL, but I think NY can lock him up even if he’s in office. Probably just gonna siege his assets and fine him tho.

I, for one, am definitely looking forward to a circumvallation of Trump Tower and trebuchets lobbing boulders into the penthouse.

trump will turn out his base + all the republicans that vote every time because they always vote and they'll never vote dem. we found out in 2016 that that's around 62 million people. dems need to run someone that can turn out more, but we pretty much already know they'll run some centrist that won't support progressive policies like universal healthcare, even though 80% of dems and 65% of the country supports it. we already see it with centrists claiming that there's a conspiracy on the left against beto, instead of recognizing that his policy positions just aren't that popular. trumps probably going to get reelected, because we'll shoot ourselves in the foot again.

Cohen's being sentenced right now. His lawyer bitched about the SDNY being on a power grab. Good strategy! I'm sure it will work bigly.
12-12-2018 , 01:04 PM
Cohen sentenced to 3 years in prison. Says who? Says the judge.
12-12-2018 , 01:05 PM
3 years for Cohen. LOCK THEM UP
12-12-2018 , 01:07 PM
acted in coordination with and at the direction of Individual-1
12-12-2018 , 01:08 PM
Now take me to jail

12-12-2018 , 01:09 PM
For the lawyers here, Cohen implicating Trump is on the record right? So even if the dip**** pardons him, what Cohen said today can still be used against Trump?
